As a college, IIEST is definitely better than NIT Durgapur. Now,  I would suggest you to choose the branch you want to follow, not just the college. If you want to study CSE and choose IIEST ECE just because the college is better it would be foolish to do so as you will not be interested in the course as you would be in CSE.

Do not compromise your passion for college.

There are students who bag huge salaries by studying in low tier colleges just because they followed their passion.

Listing your options cleanly, 

CSE at NIT Durgapur, IIIT Kalyani, IIEST Shibpur.

ECE at NIT Durgapur, IIIT Kalyani, IIEST Shibpur.

Firstly choose CSE, as it has better opportunities and relatively a higher salary package. Now Keep aside IIIT Kalyani and chose between NIT Durgapur and IIEST Shibpur. Also, IIEST Shibpur has low NIRF 2019 Ranking but average package at NIT Durgapur is little high, though the highest package is far higher at IIEST Shibpur this year. 

At IIEST Shibpur, 

Highest Package - 39.12 Lakhs

Average Package - around 6 lakhs

And in NIT Durgapur, 

Highest Package - 29 lakhs

Average Package - 6.5 lakhs.

• IIIT BANGALORE 

• NIT DURGAPUR

• NIT BHOPAL

• NIT SURAT

If you are looking for admissions, apart from the rankings you should also look at their respective facilities that are provided by the colleges. 

1- IIIT BANGALORE : the placements here are good. Many good companies visit the place The fee structure is also a bit expensive but the facilities provided are worth it. The faculty is good and quite knowledgeable. Internships are provided at a 6 month basis and may be converted to full time employment as well. 

2- NIT DURGAPUR : fees are very less as compared to the level of education provided. There are various state-financed scholarships also present that further help the students. Placements and job opportunities are taken care of by the training and placement cell is the national institute of technology Durgapur which ensures that each student gets placed. The internships are also good and an average stipend is provided. 

• NIT BHOPAL : Fees are generally feasible and also have a installment option also. Students are also provided with a loan option to help economically backward students. The placements are provided through the shortlisting that the companies ask for. Students may also be invited for interviews via calls. Internships are also provided to the students. Stipends depend on the work profile. 

• NIT SURAT : Fee structure pf one year is about 1,35,000 rupees. Since we'll students have a good percentile, scholarships are provided to the financially weak students. The placements provided are very good with about 125+ companies visiting the college every year. 80% of the students are placed with average packages of 5 Lakh per year. The colleges provide internships but it isn't necessary so not taking an internship will not affect your curriculum.

There is no comparison between both the college because they are Govt. recognized college of India. But the according to NIRF ranking NIT Durgapur stands 46 and NIT Raipur stands 74 among all the engineering colleges. Placement wise both colleges have the same opportunities and average of 6 lakhs per annum. Finally, the ultimate choice is yours. Best Wishes.
