sir, in josaa counselling. i got NIT bhopal chemical engneering in 2nd round. i made a mistake while filling the choices that i would get NIT goa mech which i dont prefer. so can you please tell that, if i opt for slide for next round. after that will float option be appeared for me or not?

Shivam Kumar 24th Oct, 2020

Hello Venusaivenu12012002,

Well, Sorry to say but you can't get float option after selecting slide option, (As written in Josaa Business rule 2020 : a candidate can change from float to slide/freeze and slide to freeze by online reporting.  Page 37) but I will suggest, wait till last round and then apply for CSAB round and arrange in your preferred manner, there are chances for you getting seat there, but no chance in josaa itself...

Last Year Csab round cutoff for MANIT bhopal, chemical engineering was 27193 for CSAB first round for Other State Quota Candidates...

Hope This Helps, feel free to ask any further query...

in between nit Goa and nit Raipur ..which college has more placements in ECE

Tunir Sikdar 22nd Oct, 2020

Hi,

NIT Raipur is better than Goa because of better placements especially in the department you have mentioned - ECE.

The average package offered in Raipur is 7 LPA which is better than Goa  where range is like 4-5 LPA. The placement rate is approximately 78.5%. Many companies like Wipro, Mahindra, Taxes Steel, Vedanta, etc. in Raipur which is higher than that of Goa.

Also Raipur offers better college facilities and infrastructure.

Is nit Goa implementing ews quota this year?

Nahid Anowar 14th Oct, 2020

Hello there,

EWS category was brought last year . According to Central Government, there is 10% reservation for EWS Category in academic institutes. So let it be IITs or NITs, there will be 10% reservation in seats .NITS is about to fill 800 seats in EWS quota. MHRD minister has also announced to increase 25% seats to Implement this EWS quota.

so, last year there was no in take of admissions in NIT goa through EWS category. But you have some other NIT's which take admissions through EWS category.

i got 249320 rank in jee mains im belongs to obc category will i get seat in nit Goa and im female

sheemaashraf123 30th Nov, 2021
It depends upon the JEE Main and JEE Advance cut offs, If You manage to qualify the exam by achieving the cut off, You can apply for JOSAA Counselling. It should be noted the cut off for EWS/SC/ST/FEMALES/OBC category is lower than the general category

If you manage to qualify JEE Main Cutoff, You would be eligible for JEE Advance which is the intake exam for IITs as mentioned above.

However It is usually advised to fill the choices as per the preference of colleges and departments, for example CSE in NIT Trichy is your priority followed by CSE in NIT Warangal, you can fill CSE at NIT Trichy at serial number 1 and CSE at NIT Warangal at serial number 2 and so on and so forth. However to get any NIT, you must have qualified JEE Mains and to get any IIT, you must have qualifies JEE Advanced

But the previous cut offs of colleges should be taken in consideration, it is better to research over the cut off of colleges then make a preference list of colleges and fill accordingly

For the college preferences and the courses provided by these colleges and to know which colleges participate in the JOSAA counselling, please go to the below mentioned link: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/josaa-participating-institutes/amp

iiit pune v/s nit goa , mechanical emgineering , which is better, like salary etc.

Ayush 5th Oct, 2020

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well.

As per your question, both of the are equally good and have their standards but to figure out which one would should be preferrable for mechanical engineering one should compare there placement packages and teaching facilities . So as per teaching facilities and placement packages :-

1) IIIT pune :-

Highest package offered is of 40LPA while lowest package offered is 8LPA last year whereas as per their official they have an average package of 5 to 6 LPA.

As per teaching facility they have well qualified professors with a minimum of 20 years of experience.

2) NIT goa:-

Highest package of offered in the last year is 12LPA while an average package of 6.41 LPA as per their officials.

They also have well qualified professors having a great experience.

So as per this comparison IIIT pune have an edge on NIT goa little bit. So as per my opinion you should go with IIIT pune. But you can also choose as per your convinence .

Hope this information helps you out . Thank you.

can i get nit goa with 70 percentile with st category for ece branch

harshitjh 2nd Oct, 2020

Hello,

Hope you are doing well.

On the basis of your percentile obtained your predicted rank must lie between 9650 - 11300 .This is the predicted rank on the basis of your percentile obtained.According to your rank obtained there seems less chances of yours to get ECE branch in NIT Goa as the rank you obtained does not comes under the closing rank required to get ECE branch when compared with previous year closing rank. You can also visit the link below to see previous year closing rank of NIT Goa:

my obc rank is 133000 can i get admission in NIT goa or NIT jalandhar or NIT bhopal my domicile is of bhopal and maharastra

Anurag Khanna 30th Sep, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

According to the category rank you have mentioned in the question you cannot get any of the NITs as per previous year's cut-offs even after considering your Home state quota but yes I would suggest you to take a drop for this year and prepare for JEE-Main 2021 and to help you with your preparation we have some resources made by our experts which you can access from the link given below :-

https://learn.careers360.com/knockout-jee-main-april/?product=27&icn=knockout-jee-main-2021-january&ici=

Now if you can't afford to take a drop than sit for some state counselling because in some of the state government colleges you can get admission on such low ranks.

Note that the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.

So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India :-

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

Can I get CSE Branch in NIT GOA with 1,13,267 CRL and 33,985 OBC Rank ?

Nikhitha Sai 26th Sep, 2020

Hello Student,

A rank of 1,13,267 in CRL is a low of a rank. Due to the competition increasing by the minute everyday, the need for scoring higher marks and scores keep increasing more and more. Hence, unfortunately you might not be able to get a seat in NIT goa.

Even if the chance is there, yo might be getting civil engineering  or chemical engineering branches in 3rd round of counselling or so.

However, since you have mentioned that you have obc reservation there might be chances for you to get intto the university in that category. Computer Science Engineering is a course that is very much in demand and much sought after course and the chances are very low.

There are chances that you might get branches like chemical enginering, civil engineering etc.

There are some other universities into which you have a good chance of getting into. Hence I would suggest you to apply for other universities.

Some other good universities would be:

1. SSN College of Engineering, Chennai

2. SASTRA Deemed to be University, Thanjavur

3. Andhra University, Andhra Pradesh

4. Delhi University

5. Shiv Nadar University

6. VIT, Vellore

7. Manipal Institute of Technology
