Well if your home state quota is himachal pradesh then I think you can surely get atleast Electronics and Communication Engineering at NIT hamirpur although I cannot say for certain about the Computer Science and Engineering branch as it is the most sought after branch.

Well no other state engineering college will come up to the level of NIT Hamirpur and according to me there is only one institute in all of Himachal Pradesh which is better than NIT Hamirpur and if you have guessed it right then it is IIT Mandi so go for NIT Hamirpur without any doubt.

Well with this rank you can certainly get NIT Hamirpur if you have Himachal Pradesh state quota. But you will get a lower branch probably the lowest branch also like Materials science and engineering so be prepared for that as well beacause there is no branch change in NIT Hamirpur.

I am sorry to tell you that with your rank in JEE Mains in ST category there is no chance for you to get admission in NIT Hamirpur in Computer Science and Engineering branch even if you have home state quota. Also there is very tough chance to get Electronics and Communication Engineering branch as it closes at 6678. If not these branches you could go for Electrical or Civil Engineering.

Since the branch covers both degrees from CSE, that speaks volumes of the scope it comes with.

The placement would be decent. Given it also covers M. Tech., It will also open your chances of research in the upcoming future. Research in neural networks, IOT etc are the talk of the town.

Government might promote these firstly comming batch to great height they might focus on you more importantly bif you wanna join nit then its ilao good as nit cse branch is one of the best in todays era og engineers.

I see that you have secured 5000 rank in OBC category . But you haven't specified that you are home state quota or other state quota . 

If you are home state quota then according to previous year closing rank you are definitely getting CSE in nit Hamirpur. 

But if you are from other state then you fall just short of it. You won't get according to previous year rank.
