Do metallurgy guy can sit for CS placement in NIT jamshedpur ??If not so what can he do to grab high packages like what the CS guy gets ??

Atul Singh 10th Aug, 2021

Dear Student,

No, he can't sit in the placement drive of the CS, they ask only CSE and IT to sit in their campus round and somewhere ECE also but not the metallurgy student.

To get the placement or post like CSE students you need to some into the field of programming, learn any language, make various projects, and every IT stuff you need to do and understand then you will be able to grab the post of any IT company and you need to choose the off campus placement method because in college they will not allow you but in outside you can join any company you want you have the required skill.

Good Luck :)

Nit jamshedpur has such a great placement then also it is so underrated college ,,why ??? will I get this college at 97.6%le in jee mains general category and should I take it as placement is my main motive ????

Anurag Khanna 6th Aug, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

If we go through the analysis of marks Vs Percentile Vs rank for JEE-Main 2020 then according to the percentile mentioned by you in the question your CRL rank is expected to be in the range of 24552 - 27600 , you can check out marks Vs ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

Or

You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that :-

Closing CRL rank for NIT Jamshedpur was :-

  • Production and Industrial Engineering  branch - 49450 (Home state quota)
  • Metallurgical and Materials Engineering  branch - 42481 (Other state quota) .

So you have quite good chances to get NIT Jamshedpur either under Home state quota or even under other state quota.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.

To have a list of all those colleges which you can get based upon your marks, category, and state you can use JEE-Main College Predictor:-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

Now if we talk about NIT Jamshedpur's placement scenario then it is quite good and companies have offered attractive placements to the candidates of NIT Jamshedpur and it is not al all under-rated because it is known to be under top 10 NITs in common interest. If you are going only with the placement motive then you would face some difficulties because before placement you have to learn different skills, what NIT will offer you is just a training and assistance regarding placements and you yourself have to develop skills in you so that company should see some talent in you.

I hope this information helps you.

Good Luck!!

Can I get nit jsr (any branch) with 78%ile (Sc category) OS????

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 3rd Aug, 2021

Hi

With 78 percentile

Your sc rank will be around 15,000 .

I am extremely sorry to tell you but with above predicted rank you have a very low chance in NIT jsr i. e NIT jamshedpur

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, closing rank for gender-neutral  for sc category was 8484 sc  rank under other state in NIT jamshedpur and it was for Production and Industrial Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology).

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

This  prediction is on the basis of past year cut off data but  cut closing rank changes every year depending upon  number of candidates that write jee main examination, difficulty level of the question paper for different shifts of jee main etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer

So, you need at least around 8000 sc rank i. e at least  around 87 percentile . To improve your score in remaining session of JEE main you should focus on your preparation go through previous year question papers ,mock test papers and to help you in your preparation we have jee main knockout out for you, for which  is provided below, target at least around 95 percentile to get into NIT Bhopal

i got communication system engineering in nit jamshedpur for m.tech.should i join or not? As i dont know much about this college.

Manidipa Kundu Student Expert 18th Jul, 2021

hi,

see nit jamshedpur is best for its b.tech course. however as per m.tech course the placement statistics is not very promising. placement offers is comparatively less for m.tech students then b.tech. cse departments is highest placement record.

so from my point of view and as per students review it would be quite challenging to secure a decent position of work in core engineering stream  after completing m.tech from nit jamshedpur. as per most of the nits m.tech placement scenario, cse department has best placement record among other streams. for m.tech course and best placement opportunity iits, iiits, iisc , bits are best.

hope you understand.

chandni deb 11th Jul, 2021

Dear Aspirant,

as per the cutoff for the previous years, there is a good chance you will be able to secure a seat at NIT Jamshedpur, unfortunately the chances for you to get admission for the stream of ECE is less. However, there are other streams you are eligible to secure a seat at, some of them are,

  • EEE
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Civil Engineering
  • Production and Industrial Engineering
  • Metallurgical and Material Engineering

Sir/Mam I got 79.14 percentile in jee mains march and I am from St category. Can I get a good branch in NIT Jamshedpur?

Anurag Khanna 10th Jul, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

If we go through the analysis of marks Vs Percentile Vs rank for JEE-Main 2020 then according to the percentile mentioned by you in the question your CRL rank is expected to be in the range of 213398 - 239890 , you can check out marks Vs ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-

Or

You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that :-

Closing ST rank for NIT Jamshedpur was :-

  • Production and Industrial Engineering branch - 3382 (Other state quota)
  • Production and Industrial Engineering branch - 4938 (Home state quota)

Above branch is the branch having lowest cut-off rank in NIT Jamshedpur and there are very less chances for you to get into it then good branches would not be possible for such rank even after category reservation because your ST rank is expected to be around 10,000-11,000.

But yes if you improve your percentile in any further session of JEE-Main like around 90+ then you might have a shot for good branches at NIT Jamshedpur.
