Hello Abhishek,
In order to get seat in NIT Jamshedpur you need to score more than 98 percentile for ST candidate.
As you are Home state candidate for counselling so you will be given preference but you should work hard to get good score also as I said above.
As your category is ST so you will also be preferred category wise.
Hope this helps you.

Hello Zishan, If you are local residents of jharkhand then you will eligible to get Home state Quota in NIT Jamshedpur as Jamshedpur lies in jharkhand.

It's difficult to tell you the exact rank or score to get into NIT Jamshedpur or other NITs, IIITs & GFTIs.

Last year closing Cutoff rank for  CSAB- Round 2 Home state OBC Candidate was 41.222 in NIT Jamshedpur Mechanical Engineering which held after the completion of first 7 rounds of JOSSA.

I am a b.tech final year student from Electrical Engineering . My c.g.p.a is 7.2 Am I get a chance for take admission in NIT or IIT without Gate2020?

S. Saha Student Expert 7th Feb, 2020
It is not at all possible. If you are from any CFTIs having more than 8 CGPA, then going through screening test and interview you can get into the campus. Otherwise, GATE is the only way for engineers to get a seat in IITs or NITs. Some of the NITs do consider non GATE students by the following criteria- part time, sponsored and self sponsored candidates without stipend.

I got 97.78 percentile, jharkhand is my home state & I belong EWS categories. can I found NIT jamshedpur.? if yes, than what branches can I found.?

Akram Khan 4th Feb, 2020

Hi,

The chances of getting a seat in nits depend on your rank obtained in jee main exam.

Though it is difficult to predict actual rank or JEE advanced qualify marks. your expected rank can be calculated by using the formula

100 - your total percentile score is the percentage  of people ahead of you. 869010 are the number of candidates appeared for Jan exam.

So rank formula is

(100 - 97.78) X 869010 /100.

So using above formula your expected overall rank would be around 19,292.

If the number of candidates for April exam increased to 1200000 then your final rank shall be around  (100 - 97.78) X 1200000/100 that is 26,640

The seat which you would expect to get depend on many factors like number of candidate applied, category, difficulty level of exam etc.etc.it varies from year to year.

You can check the previous years cutoff with rank from the link to have more comprehensive idea.

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-nit-jamshedpur

Your EWS category rank would be different than the overall rank. The previous years trends shows that there are decent chances that you can get a seat at nit Jamshedpur.

You can check the college predictor link to check other colleges for you can expect admission

Hope this helps. All the best.

Ive got 93.9 percentile in jee mains january , can i get Nit Jamshedpur under home state quota for obcncl girl student from Jharkhand ? If yes whuch branches can i get ?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 29th Jan, 2020

Your rank can be predicted by using the formula, (100-your total percentile)*869010/100. In your case, your approximate rank would be  53009. Let's say the number of candidates for April exam increased to 12,00,000 then your final rank shall be (100 - your total score) X 12,00,000/100.

In 2019, the cut offs for NIT Jamshedpur, for female OBC Home State Candidate have been as follows:

Civil Engineering: 16612

CSE: 8148

Electrical: 12083

ECE: 11607

ME: 14011

Metallurgical: 16769

Production: 15011

Now these are 2019 cut offs and cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as Total no. of seats available, difficulty of the exam, previous years trends, no. of Candidates appearing for the exam and no. of Candidates applying for a course. So anything less than 95 percentile would be difficult for a seat in Home State NIT.
