JEE Main is being conducted twice by NTA for the first time so it is difficult to predict and NTA Scores for both of the attempts will be taken into consideration and the best of the two attempts will be considered for ranking purposes.

As per the previous year, The closing rank of home state quota for CSE branch was around 14436 as General category of NIT Jamshedpur. You can check the cutoff for other branches with the given below link.

I assume you are talking about admission in NIT Jamshedpur. For admission to B. Tech courses NIT Jamshedpur only uses the JEE Main score. The Joint Seat Allocation Authority (JoSAA) / Central Seat Allocation Board (CSAB) allocates the seats for Under Graduate Programmes through Common Counseling process.

With this marks you can get NIT Jamshedpur but not CSE or Mech or may be ECE. Other than these branc you can get almost all.

For NIT Patna i am not sure about CSE but other than CSE you can almost all the branch in NIT patna.

See this score might be too low even using all ur quota to get a seat in the NIT JAMSHEDPUR for pursuing ur higher studies in btech career. U should be opting for some other colleges like SRM , LPU , MANIPAL for ur higher studies in the private institutions. U can also give COMEDK , BITSAT etc entrance test to show ur caliber there. Hi Aspirant,

Definitely NIT Jamshedpur. First there's no hectic schedule in NIT, secondly you will get enough time so that you can prepare for other competitions like CAT,GATE and UPSC. Thirdly Cse and Ece placement are almost 100% in NIT JSR with average almost equal to 6 L CTC and last but not least you will have the tag of NIT which favour you rest of your life.

National Institute of Technology Or NIT, Jamshedpur formerly known as Regional Institute of Technology. ... NIT Jamshedpurhas 12 departments, 4000 Students, 200 faculties and 150 administrative and supporting staff. It is one of the best institutes ranked among the best  Engineering colleges  .The placement are also very good for CSE student .10 students of 2k14 batch got 27 lakh package.Students will placed in Microsoft at 24 Lang too and in other MNCs too  so placement will never be something to  bother if you  are in CSE branch .

Hii Vivek, with your score getting itno NIT Patna or Jamshedpur will be difficult. I am mentioning below the previous years average OBC category closing cutoffs for your convenience.

(1) NIT Patna-

• Geotechnical engineering- 500+
• Structural engineering- 550+

(2) NIT Jamshedpur

• Geotechnical engineering-460-480+
• Structural engineering- 490-500+
