National Institute of Technology Karnataka Surathkal
Dear aspirant,
As you have mentioned that 40 seats have been added as artificial intelligence. So let me tell you about the dynamics . In my year too, the seats were increased in many of the nits.
But it totally depends on the craze among the students to choose the nits . If the demand increases then the cut off instead of going low can increase. But in a worst case scenario you can expect the cut off to be same atleast else it will go low.
Hello, Aspirant..
The CBSE will disclose the JEE Main 2020 results, as well as the candidates' category rank and All India Rank.
The JEE Main 2020 cutoff for NIT Surathkal is determined by the All India Rank.
However, you can look at previous year's cutoffs to get a sense of what to expect this year.
From the above link, you may view the previous year cut off for NIT Surathkal for home state as well as other state quota for each branch.

Hello student ,
The placement percentage of students in civil is higher than in chemical in NITK . The placement is 79 percent and companies like Google, Microsoft, IBM, Intel etc come to recruit last year with salaries ranging from 5 LPA to 37 LPA.
Around 90% of the students got placed. The average salary package offered is 6.5 LPA, and the highest salary package offered is 17 LPA. A lot of reputed companies visit the college for placements.
Though the placement percentage is high in civil engineering but the salary package is relatively better in chemical and rest is based on your interest.
Hello,
With your rank and category you have good chances of getting these branches as per your preference in NIT Surathkal:
Considering the Female Supernumerary seats are tentative in number you have a close chance at ISE, still I would suggest you to add two more options i.e Mechanical and Chemical to your choice filling. As trends of previous year's more options in choice filling gives you a better chance of getting a desired branch in subsequent rounds of counselling.
I would also like to add here that an engineering course should be very much taken with an interest in the field so I would suggest you to consider that factor and if you are not aware of the branches mentioned look them up on the internet more reliable will be to go through the syllabus on the respective colleges' website. An interest in the field is the key factor in deciding how your 4 years of college will be and what opportunities you will land for yourself.
Good luck, hope it helps!!
Congratulations on getting such good college and branch options. I will give you a preference list which will comprise of all these factors:
The preference order you should consider is:
As a branch considering the current scenario and employability status I would suggest going for Chemical than Civil because of the following factors:
