National Institute of Technology Karnataka Surathkal
HELLO Arjun Well with the present percentile you may qualify JEE mains . so there are very less chances of getting NITS. but do not worry there is still an april attempt left and there are many reputed colleges which offer their own entrance exam like SRM conducts SRMJEE, VIT conducts VITEEE,BITSAT etc. IF you wish to take admission into the karnataka engineering colleges you cab go for COMEDK which is a very easy exam compared to JEE il give a list of all engineering exam click on the below link her you will get all the details https://engineering.careers360.com/exams
Congratulations for your result and qualifying JEE mains.
since it is very difficult to predict the exact rank but we do have a backup> we have a formula to calculate the expected rank that is (100 – Total percentile) x 869010/100.
So according to formula your expected rank for present percentile for January session comes out to be 269393. Now the expected rank might change depending on the no of candidates appearing the april session. For ex if 12 lakh candidate appear the april session then just replace 869010 by 12 lakhs. But if you score above 85 percentile then you have a very decent chance of qualifying jee mains.
But if you are curious to know that which college you might land into with your percentile then you can use the college predictor link which has following features;

To get admission in NIT surathkal
You will need more than 170 marks to get a seat without any problems if you are from general category.
And 160+ will be safe for any reservations as percentile required to get admission in NIT surathkal is more than 98 percentile.
I hope it helps.
Hello Aspirant,

Hi Ramu,
Congrats on scoring 97.3 percentile.According to your percentile, your rank will be around ((100-97.3)*869010)/100 which is around 23k.

As per your rank, and considering your category ;you can get Mechanical, Metalurgy,Mining,Chemical,Civil, in spot round considering previous year trends. But, I will advice you to give your best for the April attempt and try to score a better percentile to get into a branch of your choice.
You can go through the following link to predict different colleges for you:
Wishing you all the very best for your future exams and for your April attempt.
Hi,
The chances of getting a seat in nits depend on your rank obtained in jee main exam.
Though it is difficult to predict actual rank or JEE advanced qualify marks. your expected rank can be calculated by using the formula
100 - your total percentile score is the percentage of people ahead of you. 869010 are the number of candidates appeared for Jan exam.
So rank formula is
(100 - 87.30) X 869010 /100.
So using above formula your expected overall rank would be around 110,364
If the number of candidates for April exam increased to 1200000 then your final rank shall be around (100 - 87.30) X 1200000/100 that is 152,400.
The college which you would expect to get depend on many factors like number of candidate applied, category, difficulty level of exam etc.etc.it varies from year to year.
However looking at the previous years cutoff trends of nit suratkal for obc category the closing cutoff ranges in between rank of 15000- 21000.
So it seems tough for you to get a seat in both the home state qouta and other state qouta with this expected rank. You should try for the April attempt to increase your rank.
You can check the previous years cutoff with rank from the link to have more comprehensive idea.
