I am a resident of Assam. I dont have PRC yet. I only have the acknowledgement receipt and my father has PRC. How can I get home state quota in Assam for getting into NIT Silchar through JEE Mains score?

Ranjan shah 29th Sep, 2021

as you mentioned that you live in assam .

to claim for resident you have proof like : aadhar card ,etc

but for that in which state you have complete your 10th and 12th  class exam . which is taken as your home state .

if you pass 12th and 10th class from assam then you will fill assam as your home state and take home state quota of assam

ECE at NIT Patna , NIT Silchar , NIT Andhra , NIT Agartala , IIITDM Jabalpur , IIIT Pune , IIIT Kota , IIIT Guwahati or CSE at IIIT Nagpur, IIIT Sri City , IIIT Dharwad , IIIT Kottayam or IT at IIIT Bhubaneshwar What should i prefer

Koyel Bagchi 26th Sep, 2021

Hello,

First of all, you have to decide that you want to go for the institute or you want to go for the stream. If you want to study in IIT then you should go for CSE in that case your preference should be Bhubaneswar>Kottawayam>Sri city

If you want to go for stream then your preference should be ECE at NIT PATNA.

Hope for the best.

Thank you.

How is NIT silchar CSE branch for other state students and I am belonging from Uttar Pradesh

Purbayan Chatterjee 26th Sep, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

Hope you are doing fine. NIT Silchar has one of the best infrastructure as compared to other NITs. Campus is spread over 625 acres with about 19 lakes, tea garden, a big auditorium and a cricket ground.

At the end of the first year, the top scoring students get a chance to change their branch if they want. Regular classes as well as Tutorial classes for problem-solving are there. The teachers are interactive as well as supportive and the teaching method is appropriate for most of the teachers.

The placement scenario is very good . The training and placement cell is responsible for the bringing in more companies. Most of the students are placed in IT companies but for core companies competition is very high. In CSE almost 100% of students get placement with an average package of 10LPA.

For more information, about NIT Silchar, visit: https://www.careers360.com/university/national-institute-of-technology-silchar

Hope this was helpful.

I got jee main rank 2021 in obc ncl rank 2747 I cant decide with mnit allahabad ece, vnit nagpur ece ,nit jamshadpur cse ,nit silchar cse. Please help me what to select, i had interest in all!

Abhishek Roy 22nd Sep, 2021

Unless you have Vicinity issues or some craze for CSE, I would suggest you to prefer either between VNIT or MNNIT ECE. Both are among the Top 10 Best NITs, with excellent placements, faculty and infrastructure. However, incase youre in for CSE, I would sugget you to prefer NIT Jamshedpur. NIT Jsr is perhaps one of the most underrated NITs of India, with Much better Placements than the Rest ot the Sister Institutes.
