I got 85400 CRL in JEE mains 2021 with 13000 EWS rank.. can I get admission in NIT Silchar

Nitya 15th Sep, 2021
Hey,
With this percentile, there are some chances of getting NIT SILCHAR if you use the state quota. You did not mention your state but your profile says you are from Assam.

You can refer the link fot last year's cutoff for NIT Silchar.
https://www.google.com/amp/s/engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-cutoff-for-nit-silchar/amp

Getting other NITS and IIITs is not possible, if we look at the cutoff trends of last few years.
You can refer the link for last few year's cutoff

I got 92.613%le in JEE MAINS 2021 (Im General Category and my Home State is Assam) I will be getting a seat in NIT Silchar in JoSAAA but I want a seat in NIT Rourkela. Can I get a seat in NIT Rourkela in CSAB rounds as last year many seats got vacant for NIT Rourkela??

RUPAYAN PAL PLAYS 12th Sep, 2021

Dear Student,

There is little to no chance of getting NIT Rourkela with the JEE Mains score of 92.613 percentile in the CSAB rounds. The seats always gets filled during the counselling and some students leave the college after the counselling thus creating the "vacancy". So the chances of getting a seat in NIT Rourkela is low. You may try other NITs and as you have mentioned you will get a seat in NIT Silchar so congrats!

Good Luck!

NIT Silchar is some of the good NIT in India and you need a really good score/rank to get a seat in this college, everything under the rank of 2k is considered good to get any branch in NIT silchar. Here is the data given below of 2020 for the ST category so that you can understand more wisely.

  • Civil- 1672
  • Mechanical- 2023
  • CSE- 884
  • ECE- 1275
  • Electrical- 1811
  • Electronics & instrumentation- 2408.

i have got 70 percentile in jee main belong (st category ) than i will get to admission in nit silchar on mechanical engineering branch

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 7th Sep, 2021

Hi

Your profile suggests that you are from Assam, so assuming you would have done 12th from Assam so you will be eligible for home state quota in NIT Silchar

With 70 percentile

Your st  rank will be around 8k

I am extremely sorry to tell you but with above predicted rank you have a very low chance in NIT  Silchar in mechanical or any branch even under  home state quota

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, closing rank for gender-neutral  for st category was  2314 st rank for mechanical engineering under home state in NIT silchar .

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

This  prediction is on the basis of past year cut off data but  cut closing rank changes every year depending upon  number of candidates that write jee main examination, difficulty level of the question paper for different shifts of jee main etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

Thank you

ANKITA SONI 6th Sep, 2021

Hello Buddy! Hope you're doing good.

With 92.7 percentile, your expected rank is nearly about 80301. Well your home state is ASSAM itself then there's scope of getting EE, Civil, Electronics and Instrumentation in NIT SILCHAR as last year it's cutoff was 86128, 87747 and 86757 respectively. Apart from NIT SILCHAR you will also get TRIGUNA SEN SCHOOL OF TECHNOLOGY, Assam University, SILCHAR. Hope this will help you.

I am getting CSE branch in NIT Silchar. My dream is to get into an IIT but my preparation for jee advanced is not so good. So should I take a drop? ( I dont believe in partial drop)

Subhrajit Mukherjee 23rd Aug, 2021

See if you are determined about your career ahead then I would recommend you to obviously take a drop because as IIT is the place you want to study and if its in your passion then you should prepare very well in this drop year. It may seem that one year will pass by but always remember if you get into your dream college all this hard work will pay its value. Now let me say a fact, IIT's or a degree don't give you a job. Its good that you want to be in IIT but you should be aware that you like CSE as well and you are enthusiastic about the subject because if you get selected then you have to deal with CSE subjects. So made it clear that you are interested for IIT and the subject or you are just participating in the race of fame. If the answer is that you are interested in CSE and to get a better scope and structure you want to be at IIT then you should take a drop year and let me assure this will drive you very good towards the success.

what is the placement scenario of electronics and instrumentation branch in NIT Silchar?

GyanaPrakashRout 22nd Aug, 2021

Dear Aspirant,

Placements: About 75-80% of the students get placed each year in top companies. The highest salary package offered is 35 LPA, and the average salary package offered is 7.5 LPA. Top recruiting companies like Samsung, HP, Godrej, Nokia, etc., visit our campus for placements. Almost 80-90% of the students get an internship in top companies.

Infrastructure: The college provides a 24x7 LAN connection. There are well-maintained labs with all properly working instruments. Classrooms and hostels are well-maintained. There is a digital library, which is Asia's greatest library. The quality of the food served is average. It provides great opportunities in the sports field.

Faculty: Teachers in the college are helpful and knowledgeable. They show a keen interest in solving the doubts of a particular student. Juniors to seniors interactions are good, which provides us great opportunities. Semester exams are a bit tough, but it is manageable with a hard work of only 1-2 weeks.
