I got 98.42 percentile in jee mains. I am from general(ews).I am a boy.Can I get ece in nit silchar. My home state is andhra pradesh.

Arhana Chakraborty 20th Aug, 2021
As per your JEE MAINS 98 percentile the marks out of 300  will get marks around 145 to 167 or more than 167and with those marks and percentile you will get a rank around 17900  to 18540 rank

So account to previous years cutoff it is difficult to get NIT Silchar in ECE department
9857 closing  rank (ews)  of ECE department.

If you want you can only use your General catagory then previous closing rank  52152

Or you can choose othe course like

Mechanical Engineering

Electrical Engineering

Civil Engineering

Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering

You can also predict your rank and also as per your rank you can predict college from below link

taking nit silchar is beat or taking sastra university is best which sastra has best nirf rank than silchar? i got mechanical what is the placemest in sastra for mech. department in last year? please say

ginnisachdeva02_9364270 Student Expert 19th Aug, 2021

Hi Aspirant!

Both NIT Silchar and Sastra University are deemed universities , but NIT is institute of national importance. Also, NIT Silchar has been ranked 24 by India Today 2021, ranked 9 by NIRF 2020 and Sastra has been ranked 25 by NIRF 2020. Both collges provide good facilities such as digital classrooms, hostel facilities, internet facilities, green lush campus, library sports etc and skilled faculty members.

The placement record of Sastra University for mechanical engineering is not as good as of CSE or Electrical department. The average salary package offered to mechanical students is around 3.6 LPA and most of the recruiting companies are mass recruiters. If you have any chances to upgrade your seat to CSE or ECE from mechanical then I would suggest you to do that.

Thankyou!

I have scored 82.9806952 Percentile in JEE Main, 20th July, Shift 1. What will be my CRL and EWS Category Rank? My Home State is Assam. Can I get NIT Silchar? Please tell me. Har Har Mahadev.

Shivam Kumar 18th Aug, 2021

If we analyze JEE Main 2020 Ranks vs Percentile data, then if you get 82.98 percentile your CRL Rank is expected to be somewhere between 1,75,000 - 1,85,000, and EWS Rank is expected to be in the range of 25,000 - 28,000.

Or

You can use the following link to predict your rank :

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

The rank is predicted based on the previous year's data so your actual rank (this year) may vary. The ranks depend on various factors that change every year.

There are very less chances for you to get any branch in NIT Silchar.

Good Luck!

can I get nit silchar with 90.17 percentile, home state ews?

sheemaashraf123 21st Oct, 2021

It depends upon the JEE Main and JEE Advance cut offs, If You manage to qualify the exam by achieving the cut off, You can apply for JOSAA Counselling. It should be noted the cut off for EWS category is lower than the general category
However It is usually advised to fill the choices as per the preference of colleges and departments, for example CSE in NIT Trichy is your priority followed by CSE in NIT Warangal, you can fill CSE at NIT Trichy at serial number 1 and CSE at NIT Warangal at serial number 2 and so on and so forth. However to get any NIT, you must have qualified JEE Mains and to get any IIT, you must have qualifies JEE Advanced

But the previous cut offs of colleges should be taken in consideration, it is better to research over the cut off of colleges then make a preference list of colleges and fill accordingly

For the college preferences and the courses provided by these colleges and to know which colleges participate in the JOSAA counselling, please go to the below mentioned link: https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/josaa-participating-institutes/amp
