Hello aspirant

I am very sorry to say this but with this percentile your chances of admission in NIT Silchar , but still if you want to get admission there you have to boost up your jee mains percentile . Also if you belong to general category , you might fail to fulfill the cut off for jee advance by a few percentile .

Wish you All the very best!

I have scored 82.9806952 Percentile in JEE Main, 20th July, Shift 1. What will be my All India Rank and Category Rank (EWS)? Can I get NIT Silchar? Assam is my Home State also. Please anyone tell me. Har Har Mahadev.

Vedant Borle 10th Aug, 2021

Hi Aspirant

There are several stages to determine rank, including percentiles from all attempts, normalisation, and highest and lowest raw scores. Candidates highest raw scores would be normalised to a 100 percentile score for their particular session. The percentage score for each session will be determined by the total number of applicants who took the exam.

When it comes to Category Rank (EWS-Home University), you'll require a rank of 8000 to 18000 to get into NIT Silchar. The 82 percentile corresponds to a rank of around 157404. So you can get admission for Electrical engineering, Civil engineering, Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering at NIT Silchar.

Hope this helps!

All the very best!

Hlo aspirant!

Since you have got 82.98 percentile your category rank will be somewhere above 1.5 lakhs and since you have ews category , your category rank will be somewhere between 27,000-28000. From the previous year cut offs of NIT silchar chances of your admission there are a bit low , but since you belong to the home state category you should definitely try for admission . I would recommend you to participate in the counselling till the last rounds , since you might get a seat their in the last rounds of counselling.

I wish you All the very best!

Hope my answer helps!

what should be the minimum marks and percentile to get admission in NIT Silchar if I have a home state quota and ews?

Anurag Khanna 3rd Aug, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

As we go through the latest cut-off of 2020 then it shows that the closing EWS rank was 13246 for Mechanical Engineering branch in NIT Silchar under Home state quota for EWS category.

Now to secure such rank you should have your JEE-Main score at least 80+ marks out of 300 and percentile against this should be around 93+.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

with 103 marks in July 27 2nd shift can I get admission in nit Silchar...my home state is Assam and I have EWS quota?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 2nd Aug, 2021

Hi

With   103 marks

Your ews  rank will be around 8000.

It is quite difficult to make prediction but yes as per past year trend , you hold a good chance to get a seat in NIT Sichar under home state

For example

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020, closing rank  for gender neutral under home state in National Institute of Technology Sichar is given below :-

Civil Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology

  • General:- 87747

  • Ews :-19826 ews rank

You als have chances in following branches in NIT Sichar under home state :-

  • Electrical Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)

  • Electronics and Communication Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)

  • Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)

  • Mechanical Engineering (4 Years, Bachelor of Technology)

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

It has been  predicted on the basis of  past year data but  cut off/ closing rank for colleges changes every year depending upon factors like number of candidates that write jee main examination, difficulty level of the question paper for different shifts of jee main etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

With this percentile CRL Rank would be : 173910 - 195500.

Now with this and previous year cutoff trends there are some chances for NIT Silchar.

I got 78 percentile in jee mains feb attempt 2021 with st category assam, can i get admission in nit silchar assam?

Anurag Khanna 30th Jun, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

If we go through the analysis of marks Vs Percentile Vs rank for JEE-Main 2020 then according to the percentile mentioned by you in the question your CRL rank is expected to be in the range of 230000 - 260000 , you can check out marks Vs ranks Vs Percentile from the link given below :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/articles/jee-main-marks-vs-percentile

Or

You can also use JEE-Main Rank Predictor to predict your rank :-

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

As we go through the latest cut-offs of JEE-Main 2020 of JOSAA 6th round then it shows that :-

Closing ST rank for NIT Silchar was :-

  • Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering branch - 2815(Home state quota)
  • Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering  branch - 2408(Other state quota)

And your ST rank is expected to be around 12,000 .

So you have no chances to get NIT Silchar with any of the branches even if you have Home state quota through JOSAA counselling but if you are female then you can get the above branch in NIT Silchar through CSAB counselling because closing rank in CSAB 2nd round is approx. 3 Lakhs.

But yes if you improve your percentile in any further session of JEE-Main like around 80-85+ then you might have a shot at NIT Silchar.

You can check out the latest cut-offs from the link given below :-

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

Note that the above prediction is made on the basis of latest cut-offs available on official website of JOSAA or CSAB and the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors such as the number of candidates appearing in an examination, the number of candidates qualifying an examination, difficulty level of the paper, and so on.
