I got 77.07 percentile in jee mains feb attempt 2021 with st category , is there possible to get admission in nit silchar

Akash Singh 30th Jun, 2021

Dear student,

I hope you are doing well.

Now, if we we try to find your common rank on the percentile will be somewhere between 234574 - 263695.

You can check your expected rank yourself by  using our rank predictor tool. Below I am pasting the link of it.

https://engineering.careers360.com/jee-main-rank-predictor

Please note that these ranks are calculated on the basis of past years trends, so you can expect slight variation in the actual rank and the expected rank.

If we try to find out your category rank by looking at the past year trends then your SC rank will be somewhere around 12000 .

Now as you have not mentioned your homestate then I will consider you that you will not avail the homestate reservation for NIT Silchar.

Below is the last closing rank for previous years for NIT Silchar for an SC category student.

Year                                         Last Closing rank

2020                                             2408

2019                                              2933

2018                                              2211

As you can see that the the seats get fulfilled by 3000 rank so unfortunately you may not get the seat in NIT Silchar.

You can also use our rank predictor tool to see which colleges are in your rank range. Below I am pasting the link of it.

I hope this answer helps you.

All the very best!!

can i get cse at nit silchar at 98.6 percentile? I am from obc category other state.

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 18th Jun, 2021

Hi

With  98.6 percentile

Your obc rank will be around 3500.

It is quite difficult to make prediction but yes as per past year trend , you hold a decent chance to get a seat in NIT Silchar for CSE

For example,

In 6th round of josaa counselling 2020,  3934 obc rank for obc category for gender neutral  for other other state got a seat in  Computer science in NIT Silchar

You can check the same at

https://josaa.nic.in/Result/Result/currentorcr.aspx

You also have chances in following  NITs for computer science-

  • National Institute of Technology Meghalaya-6910 obc rank

  • National Institute of Technology, Uttarakhand:- 5352 obc rank

And a few more

Above prediction is on the basis of past year data but  cut off/closing rank for colleges keeps changing every year depending upon many factors like number of students that appeared in the examination, difficulty level of the JEE main question paper for different shifts etc so

To have a personalised report on your chances of getting a college you can go through our college predictor, it will give you complete list of colleges which you can get on the basis of the category you belong to,  your home state, your gender etc, the link for  jee main college predictor is provided below

Dear aspirant,

As you mentioned your percentile, I really don't think you have good chances to good chances to get into nit Silchar as even if i consider your obc category it is still low as per the cut off for nit Silchar is a bit high. Your estimated rank would be somewhat under 1.8 L .

Hii... Need to ask something.. Actually I have scored 47.0 in my graduation and I belong to sc category I just want to know that whether I will be able to apply for MBA at NIT SILCHAR. THANK YOU

snigdha vig 15th Apr, 2021

Hi,

According to the general criteria for MBA, the candidate must have done graduation in any stream along with atleast 50% marks scored in the bachelors for colleges. For NIT Silchar, the minimum marks are 55% and a relaxation of  5% is for those who belongs to Scheduled Caste (SC)/ Scheduled Tribe (ST)/ Person with Disabilities (PwD) category candidates.  Since, your score is lower than this, it will be quite difficult to get admission in NIT Silchar. However you can appear for entrance exams and try for other colleges.

You can refer to these links for more details: https://www.careers360.com/courses/mba-master-of-business-administration#MBA-Eligibility-Criteria and https://www.careers360.com/university/national-institute-of-technology-silchar

I hope this helped you.
