Course Structure: Course structure is good (needs some upgradation). There are more courses on Power Engineering (e.g. Power Systems, Machines, Drives etc.). So if you are a electronics, VLSI design,embedded systems, hardware programming freak, then it’ll be better if you join ECE. Still, you can have 6 electives

NIT silchar is counted in one of the most reputed institutes of our country and also it is known for following rules and regulations very strictly. Now as you are saying that you have a NCL which will be expiring in october, then you should go and submit that

The National Institute of Technology Silchar offers B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electronics and Communications at Rs 1,30,000 per annum. Which means the cost of the whole program is around Rs 5,20,000. Extra hostel and mess costs are not included in this.

 If you have an interest in computer applications and software, you should take Computer Science and Engineering.

Don't worry about coding, it's a very interesting subject and ab=ny programing language can be learnt in 2 months easily. It just demands practice.
