There are 2 types of cut offs namely qualifying cut off and admission cut off. Those Candidates who meet the qualifying cut off are eligible to appear for JEE Advanced. The admission cut off is the minimum score required to have higher chances at that particular institute. Now cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as Total no.of seats available. difficulty of the exam, previous years trends, no.of candidates appearing for the exam and no.of Candidates applying for a course. Cut offs decrease when the availability of seats is more than the Candidates applying. But there has been a steady increase of candidates applying for NIT Trichy than the seats available and hence the rise in the cut offs.

According to the percentile you have to get above 95, to get into NIT trichy. And you can calculate your approximate rank with the formula:100 - your total percentile score is the percentage of people ahead of you. 869010 are the number of candidates appeared for Jan exam. So rank formula is (100 - your total score) X 869010 /100. Calculate your approximate rank with this.
Hi dear,
You have got 95.23 percentile in JEE main that means your rank should be around 41451. You can also calculate your rank as
Rank=(100-your percentile)×869010÷100
According to last year trend your category rank will be around 10k-11k. You may get CIVIL, Metallurgical and Material engineering and production engineering.
Hope it helps.
