According to what I believe, IITs are superior than NITs being different in the following ways:
Global Recognition of Brand IITs: IITs have always featured in the global chart of engineering colleges from India whereas NITs do not appear in the same list.

Hi aspirant, No you are not able to get cse branch in NIT Warangal. But you can try for other state government collages. If this is your 1st attempt then don't loose hope try for 2nd attempt work hard for it.

When talking about the NIT warangal we have to admit that it is the top most NIT in India. So with your rank if you wish for the NIT warangal then I can say that you Amy not get the seat in core branches like CSE, mechanical etc.
Firstly let me tell you that 17k is a decent rank in JEE Main.
Now sliding of branch is normally based on Vacant Seats after all the rounds of counselling.
