I got 98.25 marks in CLAT 2019. I belong to OBC category. Can I get admission in any NLU?

Yashika Notnani 6th Jun, 2019

Dear candidate,

According to previous year estimates, you have a chance of getting a national law university. Belonging To obc has increased your chances of getting an nlu.

However, there might be some changes, depending upon the situation. Therefore, don’t worry just wait for your chance. Some of the nlus that you might get are

Maharashtra NLU

TNNLS Tiruchirapalla

NLU Guwahati

NUSRL Ranchi

And so on.

Good luck!

Thankyou!

If i take admission to a NLU based on CLAT ranking this year, can I attempt CLAT again next year to get into a better NLU?

Aditi Choubey 6th Jun, 2019
Hello
Yes definitely you can give clay exam next year as well irrespective of the fact that you took admision into a nlu this year. There no rule as such that you cannot  apply again. But I would like to give you a suggestion that this might be quite tough so dnt let your college that you will get into suffer as in the exams and all because the chances of whether you will get into one next year are 50% and to study along with your college nis pretty challenging so don't let go of the college that you are getting this year you can definitely give an attempt and hope to get a better one.
I hope this helps you and if you have any more questions please drop a comment below.
Thank you and best of luck.

With a score of 119.75 in clat 2019, which nlu can I expect ?

yadvi Student Expert 6th Jun, 2019

Hii Meghna

Taking into consideration of past trends you might not able to get top 10 nlus but with 119.75 marks you can expect medium to lower one because this year High cutoff is expected due to easy paper.

According to experts an individual can expect cutoff to be around 155-160 marks for top NLUs. The only thing I can say is wait till the official cutoff list  is declare.

Good luck!

hi Aakanksha

Yes ,there are chances for you getting a NLU (National Law University) in Clat 2019 if you get a score above 80 marks. For being on the safe side, I would suggest you to try to score above 90 marks in clat

Which nlu can I get with a marks of 122 in general category

Aashi Prakash 5th Jun, 2019
Hello,
thats a good score.but the cutoff is likely to remain high..it should be similar to the cutoff offered in 2016.so you have a high chances of getting into the 2nd and 3rd tier nlus.
Hope for the best.

hello, my CLAT PG expected score will be 50 so can I get nlu of any rank?

shwetasaini505_9233227 Student Expert 5th Jun, 2019

Hello Namrata,

National Law Universities are the most reputed law colleges in the country and quite difficult to gwt into.

You require atleast 75% score in CLAT to be eligible for any of the NLUs based on the previous years'cut-off trends.

You must score atleast 115 marks or above if you want admission in any of the NLUs. If you consider the previous years'cut-offs then the lowest closing marks have been 114.5 in NLUJA Assam and 114.5 in TNNLS Thiruchirapalli, and these were the closing marks in the last merit lists, not in the first ones.

So it is almost impossible for you to get in with this score. Maybe try harder next year or try for some private colleges.

Hope this helps.

May i know which is the better option among NLU Patna, NLU Lucknow & NLU Patiala in terms of faculty and campus ?

Navanshi 5th Jun, 2019

Well if we analyse these three NLU's patna , lucknow and patiala on the basis of faculty , campus then 1st point to be observed is all of the three are relatively new NLU, also NLU Lucknow and Patiala are at par with each other on no of aspects , if we rank above three then luckow and patiala will occupy top two spots and patna would be third as follows:

  • NLU Lucknow :All India Unreserved seats are 50% of total, better rank quotient. Batch diversity due to women & NRI seats(score of 52.39 acc to NIRF ranking)
  • NLU Patiala:Large batch size without location benefit. Higher percentage of All India unreserved seats. Moderate rank quotient(score of 55.53 acc to NIRF ranking)
  • NLU Patna:Location benefit (State capital) over others. Large no. of state category seats. Slightly larger batch with fairly high rank coefficient. Established NLU

nithy parthi 5th Jun, 2019

Hi Isha!

It seems you have a less chance for your score you can try along with your category you belong. If you belong to general category then you have a less chance to get into good NLU's.

All the best Isha
