Im an OEC-SC category student.Scince there is no such option as OEC in the application of NEET, which category should I choose in the B NEET application?

S. Saha Student Expert 21st Nov, 2020
OEC Means Other Eligible Communities which is a state level categorisation. Sometimes OEC Category is grouped into furthur various categories like Scheduled Caste(SC) and Scheduled Tribe(ST). Now Neet is a national level examination so you'll not find OEC category here. As you told you belong to OEC Scheduled Caste so you can choose Scheduled Caste in application or counselling form of Neet. OEC SC and SC comes with almost same reservation benefits so you don't need to think about it much, you can choose SC category in national levels.

Dear Applicant,

I hope you are doing well.

Well I can say if you have not submitted the form yet u can make the necessary changes by re-writing it.

Suppose by chance if the form got submitted than neet will give you a chance of correction. The neet application form correction window will open from 15 January 2021 so you will have to wait till then...

Hope this helps!!

in what cases we will not be able to download admit card?. does NEET application get rejected when my 12th mark is low. as I belong to UR category. 56/100in bio,47/100in physics and 60/100in chemistry .does my neet application gets rejected will I be unable to download my admit Card?

Karam Vir 2nd Nov, 2020

Hi,

The eligibility criteria for NEET is to have 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English in class 12 from a recognized board. The rejection of NEET application is due to incomplete form, details do not match with documents and if the cutoff goes low than the required marks. So, if you have aggregate of 50% or more as a general candidate , 45% or more for reserved categories can apply. So, do not worry about the same.

does my NEET application gets rejected due to my only 50percentage in 12th board. because I scored 54/100in bio,60/100in chemistry and 47/100in physics I belong to ur category.

tanoshree rana 1st Nov, 2020

hello aspirant!
Hope you are doing well!
The NEET eligibility criteria for class 12 is aggregate marks only for PCB subjects

  • UR - 50%,

  • OBC/SC/ST - 40%,

  • PWD - 45%

Your aggregate score of 3 subject is 53.66% So i do not think that it is because of your 12 score.
There is age requirement also- Candidates must have completed 17 years as on December 31, 2021
Also go through the qualifying cut-offs of NEET2020
    Qualifying cutoff

  • UR/EWS: 720-147
  • OBC: 146-113
  • SC: 146-113
  • ST: 146-113
  • UR/EWS-PWD: 146-129

hi by mistake i put my category as obc ncl in neet application.i did not know what it was.can i change the category now?

Sharon Jose R B 29th Oct, 2020

Hello Dhanalakshmy! Humans tend to make mistakes but this one is not rectifiable. There is no possibility for you to change your category now. NTA provided a stipulated time until September 23, 2020 for the category correction. During the counselling, you will have to produce a proof for your OBC-NCL category, which you aren't. There are chances for your government admission to be cancelled. Kindly be careful while filling every details in any application form.

i have scored 114 in Neet 2020. i chose UR Category in Neet application because i dont have a obc- ncl certificate. But i am a MBC in TN state reservation . Am i eligible to apply for 85% seats in state level colleges and deemed universitiy. pls clarify

Afifa 26th Oct, 2020

Hello aspirant

With this score you are not neet qualified under general category. Now you cannot change your category from general to obc as even neet results are out. You could have done it at the time of correction before the examination date.

However with this score ,if you have changed the category and become just eligible to apply for 85% state qouta, the chances are null to get admission in any of the program in government medical colleges.

It's better to prepare well and try your luck for next year.

You can try neet 2021 with the help of our neet knock out plan https://learn.careers360.com/knockout-neet-may/

Hope this information is useful

Thanks

if we have selected general category in neet application can we change category from general to ews at the time of counseling?

Harsha Sinha 25th Oct, 2020

Hi there,

I am afraid , but you can't change it now during counselling as, whatever your category is you need to have it clarified during the examination form.

Though if you could create an affidavit and ask form the administration of the particular college then you might get to change it but in general this doesn't happen.

I hope this helps
