Before proceeding to the Category Eligibility criteria, you should know about the examination eligibility first- For applying for the National Eligibility Test (NET), the candidates must have secured at least 55% marks (without rounding off) in Master's Degree.
The Category Certification eligibility is generally of 3 to 4 months only before the Examination Counselling, and so you need to update your Certificate within the proper Time Limit.

Netaji Subhash Open University is a recognized university and the degree it offers are valid too, and when it comes to appearing for UGC NET you need to have passed master's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university with 55% aggregate, and in case of reserved categories there is relaxation of 5%, so if you fulfill the above mentioned criteria, you can appear for UGC NET, for assistant professor there is no upper age limit, when it comes to JRF the age limit is 30 years for general category candidates, relaxation are offered to other reserved categories along with female candidates, armed forces, those with research experiences upto five years.

University Grant commission National Eligibility test is taken for teaching jobs in the management colleges and universities in India. UGC N et admit card for the month of June 2020 has been released for 24th September exam will be held in two shift . The December iUGC net exam date has not been published yet.

NET which is national eligibility test is conducted at national level whereas state eligibility test is conducted at state level, the eligibility criteria for both remains the same which is passed master's degree in the relevant discipline from a recognized university with 55%, in case of reserved categories such as SC/ST/OBC/PwD they need merely 50%, now you cannot apply for two different subjects if you have done master's degree in one subject ,for instance with MA English you're only eligible for english subject in NET, and with MA in geography you're only eligible for geography subject in NET, unless you have done master degree twice with two different subjects, you cannot appear for one subject in which you don't have master's degree for the same.
