if in round 1 of josaa counseling i donot get selected in any college, can i change my college preference list in the next round, how should we put the preference list should we put only those college which we will get seat in or put also those college whose cutoff is near to my rank,

Anirudh Singh 15th Oct, 2021

Hi.

Unfortunately, NO. You cannot change your college preferences once the choices have been locked. If in Round 1 you have not been allotted a seat then you need to wait for Round 2 for seat allotment and round 3 and so on. To avoid this confusion, it is recommended that you fill your preferences in such a way that fulfils your college choice but also takes consideration of previous year's closing ranks.

Try to fill atleast 10-15 colleges and branches that you have the highest chance of getting into.

You can use our College Predictor tool for JEE Mains to help you in finding college and branch of your choice based on your merits in the exam.

Good Luck

Can I avail JEE test 2chances this year and two next year.

Ketaki Dhotre Student Expert 14th Oct, 2021

Dear,

Candidates get 6 attempts – two attempts, January and April, each year for three consecutive years for JEE Main while for JEE Advanced only two attempts are allowed as per rules. Even after qualifying JEE Main with top ranks in their third attempt, students are not permitted to appear in JEE Advanced. A candidate can give JEE Main exam six times over a period of three consecutive years. You can appear for JEE Main exam for three consecutive years.

Hope this helps!

Considering I have Completed all the reporting process of josaa and downloaded the set acceptance letter. now in next round seat gets updated, should they provide window once more for dowload of seat accepatance letter again?

ayanmukherjee045 13th Oct, 2021

Dear aspirant,

As you have mentioned that you have downloaded the seat acceptance letter in the current round . But if your branch gets updated or even if it's stays the same you need to download the recent seat acceptance letter and then proceed further.

So, the window will be opened again in specific rounds.

Sir...I have applied for Income certificate, but it did not came still...can i put that applied receipt for counselling... And next one... Iam an OC candidate, I did not applied for EWS certificate...Is it necessary for attending counselling...

Anirudh Singh 12th Oct, 2021

Hi.

According to JOSAA rules, Income Tax Certificate is not a mandatory document required at the time of counselling.

However, take care of the following:

  • Certificate of category (SC/ST/OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS), if applicable, as per Government

of India format, available on the JoSAA-2021 website, issued by the competent authority.

  • In case of OBC-NCL/GEN-EWS category, the certificate must be issued on or after April 01, 2021.

Please note that

  • Caste certificate (SC/ST/OBC-NCL) issued by Maharashtra State must be validated by Social Welfare department (in case of SC and OBC-NCL category) and Tribal Welfare department (incase of ST category) of Maharashtra Government.
  • The SC/ST/OBC-NCL candidates of Maharashtra State have to produce their caste validity certificate in the format available on JoSAA-2021 website.
  • ST certificates from Tamil Nadu state must be issued by the concerned Revenue Divisional Officer

Good Luck

Hi. My son got ECE in DTU in JAC Delhi. does anyone know what is the next step? are we required to report to the college in person? or do we need to wait for all rounds to be completed? we have not received any email so far from the college.

Prateek kumar 21st Nov, 2021

Hello sir,

If the college is allotted to you through the counselling channel and you have the allotment letter generated by the portal, you have to save that letter and go to the college and show that to the admission cell of the college and they will provide the list of documents and the fee structure of the college and then you will be given a time slot within which you have to submit the documents and fee to confirm your son seat in the college.

The list of documents you are required for admission are:

  • Mark sheet of high school and intermediate
  • Annual income certificate of family
  • Address proof
  • Aadhar card
  • Allotment letter
  • Domicile certificate
  • Transfer certificate from the school

You might also require some additional documents. (as per college requirements)

Rituparna Priyadarshini 21st Nov, 2021

Hello.

First of all I want to say that you are just 22 , and are too young. You have a lot of time to do stuff. Please do not lose hope. If you feel your English is weak then take up some English language course. You can also watch videos available on YouTube that can help you with your English knowledge. GA is a very new subject for many people but reading it and studying it can make it easy for you. If you have patience.

The Hindu is suggested newspaper for all competitive exams but the language is difficult to understand even by people with good English knowledge. So do not worry about it. First start working on your English reading and writing skills and it'll become easy for you. In the meantime you can read a hindi newspaper for general knowledge.

Do not lose hope. A young kid like you has a lot of time and can achieve great things in life. You will achieve success in life just have a little patience and keep on working on your goals.
