I gave 12th through CBSE PCM in 2015. If I give Bio Exam from NIOS on demand. will I be eligible for Neet 2023. Which marksheet should I put in marksheet section while registration

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 7th May, 2022

Hi

As of now Biology as an additional /optional subjectfrom NIOS are eligible for NEET, so going by this you would be eligible for NEET 2023.

This is because,

The eligibility of students with Biology as an additional / optional subject is in the supreme court but until it gives its judgement students, these students are eligible for neet

For your reference,

Here's the eligibility criteria for NEET :-

-------------------) Qualification required :-As per Neet eligibility to be eligible one must be either appearing for 12th board examination or should have passed 12th board examination from any recognised board with physics, chemistry ,biology/biotechnology and English as core subject.

Important Note :- Students with Biology as an additional subject are also provisionally eligible for neet until Supreme Court gives its judgement over it.

-------------------) Percentage required :- You must get

  • at least 50 % in aggregate of PCB i.e Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology in 12th examination if belongs to general category

  • at least 40% in aggregate of PCB if belongs to st/Obc/ Sc

  • at least 45 % in aggregate of PCB in case of pwd candidates to be eligible.

-------------------) Age limit :-

  • Lower age limit:- to be eligible for neet one has to be at least 17 years old or more by 31st December in the year of appearing for the examination .

  • Upper age limit :-There's no upper age limit for NEET. Earlier there was upper age limit of 25 years which was pending in supreme court, on 9th march 2022 NMC in its notice has removed upper age limit. For details about it checkout :- https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-number-of-attempts-and-age-limit

-----------------) There's no attempt limit for neet.

For detailed information about neet examination eligibility go through our page for which link is provided below; -

https://medicine.careers360.com/articles/neet-eligibility-criteria

While filling the form one needs to fill her / her class 12 Roll number. Thus, you need to fill the Roll number which you have on your class 12th certificate and not the Roll number which you have on the certificate of single subject Biology additional.. During document verification you will have to carry both certificates .

Hello, I hope you are doing well

I understand that you had to take a break from studies due to unavailable circumstances, but it won't affect your opportunity to appear for JEE Mains.

Following is the eligibility criteria for JEE Mains:

  • There is no age limit.

  • You must have passed your class 12 exam in 2021 or 2022. Three consecutive attempts are allowed for JEE Main 2022 examination.

  • Students should have secured a minimum JEE Main 2022 qualifying score.

  • Candidates should have taken at least 5 subjects for the class 12 or qualifying exam (Physics, Chemistry, & Mathematics mandatory).

Following is the eligibility criteria for JEE Advanced:

The candidates should have been born on or after October 1, 1997. However, SC, ST and PwD candidates will get a relaxation of 5 years (born on or after October 1, 1992).

Hope this helps.

All the best!

I have written biology exam as an additional subject in nios 2022 board. The result is still pending. Am I eligible for neet 2022? If yes, please help me with the eligibility codes since its confusing between 1 and 2? please help

Anurag Khanna 5th May, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

You can definitely appear for NEET because for now the candidates having Biology as an additional subject are provisionally eligible for NEET UG subject to the verdict given by Hon'ble SC in due time. So as your result is awaited therefore you should use code 01 because you don't have your complete result till now.

To appear in NEET UG you need to satisfy some eligibility conditions :-

>>>>> You need to pass separately in theory as well as in practical of PCB.

>>>>> If you belongs to General/UR category then your aggregate of PCB (Theory + Practical) should be equal to or more than 50%(40% for SC/ST/OBC and 45% for PwD).

>>>>> You should be pass in English subject as well.

>>>>> There is no upper age limit for NEET UG, there is no any limit on number of attempts.

sir/mam if i give only physics improvement exam from nios/state open school am i eligible for neet. i already passed class 12th, my pcb percentage is 49%. please answer me??

Anurag Khanna 26th Apr, 2022

Hello Aspirant,

Yes it will be considered because candidates passing from open board are eligible for NEET UG so if you want to improve your marks in Physics then you can definitely do so from NIOS.

But note that you should any how get the minimum aggregate of 50% in PCB combination if you belongs to general category and along with this you need to pass separately in theory as well as in practical of PCB.

>>>>> If you belongs to General/UR category then your aggregate of PCB (Theory + Practical) should be equal to or more than 50%(40% for SC/ST/OBC and 45% for PwD).

So if you satisfy all above conditions then you are eligible for NEET UG 2022 with respect to the criteria of marks.

** Your minimum age should be more that or equal to 17 years by December 31st 2022, as per the current eligibility criteria.

** Now there is no upper age limit for NEET UG.
