I think NTA percentile system was very unfair with me in sept 2020 jee main. my friend scored 176 and his rank is around 3500 and i scored 208 and my rank is 4928. He got 32 marks less than me still he got better rank?? do you think nta percentile system has failed this time??

ritikaprasad.work 13th Sep, 2020

Hey there!

NTA percentile system takes a lot into consideration than just total score. They have an order of preference while deciding the rank

1. Candidate scoring higher percentile in first subject of the question paper either physics or mathematics gets the highest percentile

2. Candidates who has attempted all three sections gets more percentile than candidate who leaves one section untouched or doesn't answer a lot from a particular section

3. The importance of subjects goes in a descending order i.e, first subject on the screen has highest priority

All of these and some other factors decide the rank that may be why your friend got a better rank even though he scored less. Hope this helps.

hi..my neet score is 402 as released by NTA on 16.10.2020. my percentile is 86.55 AIR is 183767 Community Category ranking is 80862 OBC. text me please any possibility to get admission in TN Quota government seats in Govt Medical colleges or Government quota in Self financing colleges ? or AIQ?

Trisha Bhattacharyya 22nd Oct, 2020

Hello aspirant,

You do not have a high enough AIR rank, but with your category rank in NEET UG, you have a fair chance at getting into the MBBS and BDS Colleges in Tamil Nadu via the State Quota Seats (85%) but a low chance with the All India Quota Seats (15%).

Even though you may not get into the deemed government institutions, you can apply to the private colleges for MBBS and BDS programs and see how that works out for you. To know more about the list of colleges that you might get into, kindly use the NEET UG college predictor tool:

Ihv got 64 nta score and 9200 ST rank. can i get any nit or gfti ?

Anurag Khanna 13th Sep, 2020

Hello Aspirant,

According to the category rank you have mentioned in the question you cannot get any of the NITs until and unless you deserves Home state quota as per previous year's cut-offs but I would suggest you to sit for some state counselling because in some of the state government colleges you can get admission on such ranks.

Note that the cut-offs are bound to change every year depending upon various factors.

So you can use JEE-Main College Predictor to predict your chances of admission in different engineering colleges of India :-

Sir my nta score in jee mains september,2020 is 60.1411398. Will you pls tell me my percentile and rank.... Plz reply...

NILUTPOL Student Expert 12th Sep, 2020
Hello,
Please visit this link Careers 360 JEE Mains results out or visit http://jeemain.nta.nic.in to check your results for JEE Mains which are out yesterday.

With your percentile in JEE Mains, you have not cleared the cutoffs for JEE Mains 2020. Even your rank in the common rank list would be more than 3 lakh. Even your category rank would be too high.
With that huge rank, you have no chances of getting a seat in any government engineering colleges like NITs IIITs and GFTIs. You are not eligible to appear JEE Advanced.

Please go for some top private engineering colleges in India which conduct their own entrance exams which are very easy as compared to JEE Mains.
Some of them are
  • Sharda University Greater Noida
  • Amity University Noida
  • SRM University Chennai
  • LPU Jalandhar
  • Manipal University

Please visit this link for a list of top private engineering colleges in India

hope it helps

Well, if my NTA score is 60. Then what is my total marks? Am I eligible for NIT?

Harsha Sinha 14th Oct, 2020

Hi there,

Your score is your marks itself, on the basis of your score your rank is calculated, and if you belong to general or obc category then unfortunately you would not get into any nit, iiit other good college.

You may get some low ranked regional college bit that won't guide you towards a better future.

You can still use our college predictor tool to know about all other college options you might vget some good college
