my jee mains NTA score is 69 , what is my percentile?, and can I qualify for jee advance?

ADITYA KUMAR Student Expert 2nd Apr, 2021

Hi

Your nta score is  your percentile only. So, your percentile is 69 percentile.

Which category do you belong to?

It's quite difficult to predict JEE mains qualifying cutoff to be eligible for JEE advanced examination as it keeps changing every year depending upon various factors like :-

*number of students that appeared in the  jee main exam,

*kind of marks obtained by them ,

*toughness level of the jee main examination for different shift etc.

But yes,

When we go through previous year trend then

JEE mains 2021 expected qualifying  CUT OFF percentile to be eligible for JEE advanced  is given below for different categories on the basis of past year trends :

.                  .  JEE      MAIN CUT   OFF    PERCENTILE

Category jeemain2020 jeemain2021 expected off

General :-     90.3765335                 90-95

GEN-EWS :-  70.2435518                  70 -75

OBC-NCL :-  72.8887969                   70 -75

SC     :-           50.1760245                  50 -55

ST :-                39.0696101                  40 - 45

PwD :-            0.0618524                      1- 2

So, with 69 percentile you have good chances to qualify JEE main and be eligible for jee advanced examination only if you belong to SC /ST or pwd category

is taking test from nta app is worth?? explain pls

Anurag Khanna 29th Mar, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See test on NTA Abhyas application is designed in such a way that the candidates can prepare themselves accordingly for the examination. So if you are attempting those tests then at least you are going to get something extra. So it is highly recommended to go through those tests once.

So If you are done with your syllabus of JEE-Main 2021 then solving Previous Year Questions, different Mock tests and sample papers is the best practice to get the thorough preparation of JEE-Main or any other competitive examination either it is through NTA Abhyas app or any other relevant source, so what I would recommend you is just solve one paper in a day in the fixed time of Three hours and don't go for next paper until you clear all your doubts of previous paper so the concepts will be cleared to you. You can download different previous year's question papers and sample papers of JEE-Main from the link given below :-

NTA has also given the facility for mock test which you can give from the link given below :-

Anurag Khanna 29th Mar, 2021

Hello Aspirant,

See the qualifying cut-off percentiles which needs to be cleared by any candidate to sit in JEE-Advance is released along with the final result of JEE-Main and for JEE-Main 2021 the final result will be released after all four attempts will be completed and the final result will be on the basis of your best score amongst different attempts.

However basis on previous year's cut-off trends we can help you with the expected qualifying cut-offs for this year :-

  • Common Rank List (CRL) - 90- 95 Percentile
  • GEN-EWS - 70- 75 Percentile
  • Other Backward Classes (OBC-NCL) - 70- 75 Percentile
  • Scheduled Caste (SC) - 50- 55 Percentile
  • Scheduled Tribe (ST) - 40- 45 Percentile
  • PwD - 1-2 Percentile

Since you have not mentioned your category so considering it as General, and with General category you have no chances to qualify for JEE-Advance on such percentile. Try for at least 90-95 percentile in JEE-Main 2021 further attempts to get qualified for JEE-Advance 2021. Note that in above table it is not the actual cut-off for JEE-Main 2021 but expected on the basis of previous year's analysis. You can check out previous year's cut-off trends from the link given below :-
