If one is domicile of Odisha, can he/she apply for medical colleges of Odisha in AIQ.

Siddhi Shenoy 20th Oct, 2020

Hi aspirant,

If a candidate has a domicile of Odisha state, then he/she can apply for All India Quota as well as State Quota for medical colleges in Odisha. Actually you can apply in any college with All India Quota in India depending upon your All India Rank. With a domicile certificate, you can apply for state-quota of Odisha itself.

in ews catagory i have rank-16808 can i get a goverment medical college seat in odisha or in other states. please reply

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 19th Oct, 2020

If this is your Category rank, unfortunately you cannot get a Government Quot seat. Because in 2020, across India approximately 5000 seats have been added for EWS Category and so a rank of 16808 cannot get you a seat in MBBS. Having said that, this is based on 2019 data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. I am from odisha but i had studied at haryana as my father is in govt job, so which state will be domicile for me for neet,,haryana or odisha or can i have domicile of both...pls answer

handukanika 9th Sep, 2020

Hello,

Domicile certificate is a legal document that is required to prove the residency in a particular State. For admission under 85%  state quota seats or for 15% AIQ seats, this document is important.

In such cases you are eligible for domicile of both the states one from where you actually belong and one where did your  11th 12th schooling (assuming you did it from haryana).

That is your one domicile is from which state you did your 11th and 12th schooling and the other is the state where you own property or have stayed more than a few years (the number of years are different for different states usually its 8 years)

Hope this helps

Dear Aspirant,

As you have mentioned that you have around 300000 rank , as per my concerns as a engineering final year student you can get into some of the good government colleges and as well you can try for NITR even but the branch will be not up to your expectations with this rank but you can definitely get into some of the best colleges like VSSUT,CET,IGIT etc.

Just think wisely and for your favorite area of interest.

My NEET 2020 Score is 571. AIR Rank - 35467. General Category Rank- 15410. What are my chances of getting any government medical colleges in Odisha through 85% state quota councelling?

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 18th Oct, 2020

Compared to 2019, the NEET 2020 cut offs have changed considerably higher than expected. With the top score being 720 which is 19 marks greater than 2019's top score, it is difficult to predict chances. But based on the analysis of the experts, on the and going by previous years data, with this score a few Colleges that you may have a shot at, you have a chance in:

  • Hi-Tech Medical College (Government Quota seat)

A seat in GMCs is tad difficult with this rank. Having said that, this is based on 2019 data and cut offs change every year. Cut offs change every year depending on various factors such as no.of Candidates appearing for the exam, no.of Candidates qualified, top NEET score and difficulty of the exam. please tell the apply dates of integrated bed courses in different colleges in odisha

Tamajit Biswas Student Expert 8th Sep, 2020

Hi Narayan,

The RIE CEE entrance examination for admission into Integrated B.Ed courses were conducted on 2nd of August. Although there has been no official declaration but the results are tentatively supposed to be declared in the month of October after which the counselling for admission would be conducted so I believe you would be able to apply in different colleges of Odisha offering integrated B.Ed courses in the month of October 2020 itself.

However, do be informed that these dates may also be postponed amidst the Coronavirus pandemic.
