To get a seat in engineering the cut off marks required in Maths , Physics , Chemistry are that you need to get atleast 60% of total marks . It may vary with different entrance exams . Some exams just require 50% of the total marks .

Considering that Zoology is a Life Science subject, you may take Botany as a subsidiary subject. However, your choice of second subsidiary subject should also be from Life Science.
Most colleges usually offer Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology and other related subjects as a subsidiary alongside Zoology majors.

I think you should give more focus on chemistry, when two students gets same number , after biology , chemistry marks in evaluated to make rank, and chemistry parts question is bit harder in every year.
