Ayush 16th Nov, 2020

Hi Candidate,

Coiling refers to the rounding off the coil twice to its original number of terms. If the coil is doubled, so the length is doubled and so the resistance directly proportional to length, so the resistance is also doubled.

As the formula for power is given by p=i.i.R.t,

The resistance of a wire is 5 ohm at 50c and 6 ohm at 100c. The resistance of the wire at 0c will be

Tanzil Mahmood 10th Aug, 2019

Hi Rahul,

R = R0(1+α(T - T0)

5 = R0(1+α(50) ...(i)

And

6 = R0(1+α(100).....(ii)

Dividing (i) & (ii),

α = 1/200

So,  R0 = 4 Ω

So, the Resistance of the wire at 0°C is 4 Ω

Hope it helps!!

Good Luck..!!
