Every branch of engineering has its own significance and role to play for humanity. Similar is the case with Production Engineering amd Mining Engineering. The foremost thing is that of you have interest in any one of these two, then go for it. Else You should go with Production Engineering. As Production Engineering is a derivative branch of Mechanical Engineering, you can work as a mechanical engineer and have better job prospects. Unlike Mining Engineering, the scope of production engineering is more and broader. The placement is also good in case on production engineering. However, you may note that placement varies from college to college. Amd if you have serious interest in mining then go for it.

The placement structure of mechanical in NIT silcahr is Good .more than 75 % students got placed in different companies as per last year.The highest salary package offered was 21 LPA and average salary package was 5.5 LPA.infrastructure of this college is simply amazing.

The placement structure of Nit jalandhar is quite  good.The highest package offered was 12.5 LPA and the lowest salary package was 4 LPA.Top recuriting colleges visit this college every year.

The placement structure of this college is good .Nearly 70% of the students got placed in different companies.The highest salary packages offered was 10 LPA and the average salary package offered was 6.7 LPA.infrastructure of this college is really nice.

Based on this placement structure NIT silchar is better than nit jalandhar and nit durgapur.But these 3 colleges are quite good.Hope this information helps you.

You are comparing the top two IITs of country in their top major fields .i.e CSE Varanasi IIT and ECE Kharagpur IIT .  Telling which one is best is tough both IIT provide their best in the both field so choosing any field in any one of the college is worth . If you go from the placement the both IITs have a large number of top tier companies as recruiters the number of companies visit every year in this IITs are more than 150+ which gives you more chances to get into the top companies for jobs as well as internships normally most of the companies are MNC . So coming to the placement of CSE Varanasi IIT as per last year data  total recruiting company last year was 52 in which highest domestic package was 1.5 crore per annum in INR and international package was 1.83 crore per annum in INR and average packed was about 8-9 Lakh per annum INR.

Now for ECE Kharagpur IIT has more number of Recruiters as compared to IIT BHU  there were 192 recruiting compnay and average salary for branches were 10-12 LPA INR.
