The questions will be related to Political theory, India government and politics, Indian national movements, political thoughts, international relations, public administration and Political sociology etc. To understand the pattern and to get a better idea solve previous years question papers.

Overall be good with your UG syllabus and be thorough at recent political theories and their fathers, along with the constitution of India, current behavioural pattern of indian polity,role of International Relations in strengthening the country and it's multilateralism policy towards it's foreign relations.Be aware of the recent constitutional amendments and the ongoing verdicts of supreme court on social and public welfare issues.
You must also be good at history of modern India which includes freedom struggle , Indian rebel against the colonial rule and oppression .

When it comes to job profiles of SSC CGL, there are only three posts which have specific criteria pertaining to it, other than that the rest of the posts have only criteria of passed bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university, the posts which have specific criteria are as follows;

Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer: essential qualification is bachelor's degree in any discipline from a recognized university, desirable qualification is ca/cma/cs/mcom/mba(finance),masters in business economics and masters in business studies

Junior Statistical Officer: Bachelor's degree in any discipline with 60% marks in maths at 10+2 level or graduation in any subject with statisics as a subject in all the three years of graduation.

Statistical Investigator Grade II; Bachelor's degree in any discipline with statisics as a subject in all the three years of graduation.

• For Indian Politics- Oxford Companion to Indian Politics
• For Indian government and politics- Bidhyut Chakravarty and Rajendra Pandey
