Dear Aspirant,
If you want to do job in PSU,then first you need to crack GATE exam.Mostly core branches students apply for PSU jobs so there is less competition for CSE student. If you score 60+ marks in your GATE exam you will get a PSU job.For CSE student IOCL,PGCIL,ONGC,CEL are good PSU.For the application of PSU you require a strong in depth technical knowledge and understanding of core engineering principles for PSU jobs.
Other than the valid GATE score,PSU may specify other eligibility criteria like the pass percentage/cgpa obtained during graduation, age limit, medical certificate for fitness.
Hope this helps you
Thank you
Hello student,
IIT Delhi mechanical and PSUS both are equally good at their places as we have to clear gate examination for both the sector. PSUS are not completely government or it may be possible that it is privatized by government authority. But I prefer that PSUS is better than IIT Delhi private jobs. In PSUS your average CTC is 18 LPA or more and you will get job just after clearing the gate. But in IIT Delhi, after completing your master's degree you will get the average CTC of 8 LPA. Thtswhy most of the students go through PSUS. PSUS have a good lifestyle and you will save yourself from the fear of losing jobs and less saving problem as they mostly seen in private jobs. PSUS itself provide no reservation to the candidates but the GATE examination will provide 7.5% reservation for SC candidates.
Hello aspirant,
As you are looking forward in public sector jobs, you have two options.
1.You can take Gate exam and apply for public sector units
2 Without writing Gate exam you still have opportunities to take upsc, ssc, telecom sector, railway sector, defence sector etc.,
Below is the link which is very helpful for you as a CSE student to look forward for PSU and other related job opportunities.

Most of the PSU's now recruit graduate trainees through GATE examination. The one's that don't either conduct their own test or recruit from colleges directly.
The one's that recruit through GATE, shortlist the candidates based on their respective GATE scores and dispatch the call letters in the month of June.
Results are generally declared in the month of August but can get delayed sometimes if company decides to change the vacancies. Post declaration of results , selected candidates are called for medical examination. Few PSU's namely BHEL, HPCL, ONGC, RITES also declare a list of candidates in waiting which is a good step.
Prepare with full potential.
All the best.
