Different NITs will have different opening and closing rankings for several reasons. It's quite difficult to predict the cutoff for a year as several factors will differ from the previous years, such as, the exam is being held twice, more number of candidates have attempted the exam etc. You could use this link to check the previous year cutoffs for CSE in various NITs:

Yes, B.Tech. Mechanical Engineering is a 4-yearundergraduate course and is one of the most sought-after degree courses in engineering stream. The eligibility to take admission in this course is 10+2 pass or equivalent. Admission process for the same is generally entrance-exam based.
