Dear Sarthak,

Adding to Neha's comprehensive answer, you can also try this tool to decide which college is better for marketing :https://www.careers360.com/best-fit-colleges

  • Additionally regarding placements: ISB has 375 registered companies that offered 1134 jobs with the median average CTC of 22 lakhs while IIM- Calcultta is partnered with more than 160 firms that offered 474 jobs and a median CTC of 20 lakhs. On the other hand, the newest IIM, IIM-Jammu has average CTC of 9.65 lakhs and is still forming patnerships with firms to recruit their students.

  • Further fee structure and flexibility: ISB has a one year management courses and a fee structure of  Rs 35,43,700, which includes a non-refundable admission fee of Rs 2,50,000. While fees for IIM-A is 21 lakhs. Hence fees is also a very important deciding factor.

Hello devesh,
Yeah you are eligible for admission in IIMS  ,and the main eligibility criteria is person should get 50 percent of marks in graduation for general category and 45 percent for sc and st
And by the way, you should write CAT exam and then only based on your score and marks you will be short listed and then next round is written ability test and then last round is personal is interview ,then you will be getting an admission in IIMS
the skills and experience  you mentioned will be helpful during the personal interview round ,but you should be qualified CAT exam .

MBA as a whole has a huge scope in future as well as at present.

Finance is an evergreen field in MBA, it has the most demand in the market

Your choice of the field should depend on your interest in the field so that you can excel in it.

All the best

Marketing or sales or finace which is best for mba students who dont know math what is placement of these

Azim Shaikh 8th Oct, 2018
One of the most common difficulties surrounding subject choice relates to the choice between Maths and Maths Literacy. Maths is a difficult subject for many students and is a common source of stress especially during exams. This leads to the question of whether to take Maths or whether to opt for Maths Literacy. One of the misconceptions often quoted is that without Maths you will not get a worthwhile job one day. This is not true! There are hundreds and hundreds of careers that you can do without Maths. It is true that there are many careers that you cannot do without Maths. This is because Maths is a gateway subject to fields such as science, engineering, medicine, IT as well as into some areas of commerce. If you are considering any of these fields and you are struggling to cope with Maths then you need to consider your options carefully before deciding of whether to take Maths or not.

Marketing today is increasingly about data. At a minimum, marketers need to do reporting, which is based on math. There are a wide variety ofmath skills that marketers should have. These include statistics, geometry, economics, finance and even calculus.

Thanks,
Azim

Im a final year student of B.Sc (Physics & Maths). After it I want to do an MBA (sales and marketing) what its future and what we do?

Akshay Jangir 7th Oct, 2018

Interestingly I myself am a Physics graduate and one of the most asked question to me is that why did i shift froma pure science stream to management. My simple answer is that I liked working in the corporate environment.
Simple thing is that there's no differentiation on whether you're from any stream if you are capable of proving yourself then the world is your playground.
This goes well for management colleges as well, no matter your subjects, projects, internships, you are judgeged by what do you present to the table of the college/recruiter.
the opportunities are immense and you shouldn't be afraid of doing what you like to do.

Hi, I have 3 years of work experience in IT and sales, at what CAT(or XAT) score can I expect a call from TAPMI??

v neeraja 8th Oct, 2018

Hi Faraz,

TAPMI accepts CAT, XAT and GMAT scores for admission. The work experience you have is very good - 36 months and that is definitely a hiuge competitive advantage for you. In any college you go, you will be among the very few with such work-ex and hence you will  have a better shot at placements too. From the trends that I see and talking to collegaues, you should be able to make it into TAPMI with a CAT score of 80-90%ile. More than 90 is a safer bet but even at 85%ile you will still be able to make it through.

All the best!

Tanushree Seth 19th Aug, 2018

Hello Anamika ,

I guess either marketing would be best for you as are interested in the field .

However , you can even choose finance or human resourse or IB which are quite good streams now a days . My suggestion would be MBA marketing for you . The major placements are from this field.

Hope this helps .
