Does SPIT Andheri provide hostel for students. And if NO what other options are available?(what is the avg rent of pg or flat in Andheri west)

ginnisachdeva02_9364270 Student Expert 7th Dec, 2020

hey!

Sardar patel institute of Technology has its own hostel facilities for both male and female and amy cost upto 50,000 anually. Also, of you wish to live in private hostels or pg then they will definitely cost you less, like rentalrooms might cost you around 3000 per month. Also, two-three yars ago, college had a rule that they will provide hostel facilities to only those who take admisssion outside maharshtra. If this is applicable till now then you better be searching rooms as soon as possible.

Thankyou

What is mop up round and spot allotment in mcc counseling and how can we get an admission through this rounds

priyaankasarkar Student Expert 6th Dec, 2020

Mop Up round is nothing but the round in which the vacant seats of Deemed Universities/Central Universities/ AIIMS/ JIPMER/ ESIC are filled up. The left over seats of Government Medical Colleges are transferred to the respective States and so no GMC participates in Mop Up Round. Eligible Candidates for Mop Up round:

1. Candidates who registered for Round 1 and opted for Free exit

2. Candidates who registered in Round 2 and exited with forfeiture of fees

3. Candidates who did not register for Round 1 or Round 2,

4. Candidates who registered either for Round 1 or Round 2 but did not get a seat

Candidates who have already joined in Round 2 of AIQ/Deemed/Central Universities/AIIMS/JIPMER are not eligible for Mop Up Round. https://mcc.nic.in/UGCounselling/Documents/UGSchemeFinal.pdf

For a complete list of colleges that you may have a shot at, please use our College predictor: https://medicine.careers360.com/neet-college-predictor?icn=QnA&ici=qna_answer .

Stray Vacancy round is nothing but Spot counselling where in the left over seats after Mop up round are filled by the respective Institutions at their Colleges. If there are 10 vacant seats, the DGHS will send 100 Candidates list and the College will have to fill them based on merit. You can check the complete information at: https://mcc.nic.in/UGCounselling/Documents/UGSchemeFinal.pdf

Can i get an admission in Sardar Patel college of engineering via IT branch,i belong to sc caste and my percentile is 90? plz help me

Uttara 2nd Dec, 2020

Hello,

As per last year trends the cutoff for cap round 1 was rank 5456 (97.4808630) for GSC category and for cap round 2 it went till rank 7709 (96.4325804) for GSC category.

So the chances are a bit slim but you can try for the vacant seat rounds and if there are any vacant seat left you may get it or you could try some other branches. But there is a chance that the cutoffs may be different as it depends on a lot of other factors like vacant seats, difficulty of exams etc.

You can try using this college predictor to see the preferable colleges that you can get https://www.careers360.com/mht-cet-college-predictor

Hope this helps.

Sharon Rose Student Expert 1st Dec, 2020

Hello sir,

The cut off percentile in 2019 was as follows for admission into Computer Science through MHCET (female open category)

  • COEP: 99.8812309
  • VJTI: 99.871454
  • SPIT: 99.7374767
  • DJSE:99.4235351

Considering the cut off the chances are low to get seat in the above mentioned colleges. But cut off changes every year depending on number of candidates qualified, difficulty of exam and number of seat available etc.

Hello aspirant,

Hope you are doing well

Based on your percentile and category you have slight chances to get into your preferred college.

But try to put some back up option as cutoffs tend to change every year based on various factors.

Fill the application based on your preference irrespective of cutoffs.

Hope this helps you

SPIT artificial intelligence course

darshita 29th Nov, 2020

Hello,

As you have not specified what you want to know OI can tell in general.

Sardar Patel Institute of Technology is an autonomous un-aided Research and Engineering Institute affiliated to University of Mumbai.

The College is best for placements and the highest salary offered was 42 lakh.

The College has no hostel facilities through and the living cost of Mumbai is high.

Wi-Fi is available, and there are air-conditioned classrooms.

Now talking about artificial intelligence the course is very good for software engineering students.

The scope as well salary is dependent on your skills .

For instance, if you have 2-4 years of experience in AI, you can earn around Rs. 5-20 LPA.

While Mumbai leads the game by offering the highest Artificial Intelligence salary in India (Rs 15.6 LPA), Bengaluru follows suit with Rs 14.5 LPA.

Here are a few top-ranking AI job profiles ;

  • Principal Data Scientist – Rs. 17,11,180
  • Computer Scientist – Rs. 16,24,615
  • ML Engineer – Rs. 9,50,000
  • Data Engineer – Rs. 8,35,755
  • Data Scientist – Rs. 6,99,928
  • Research Engineer – Rs. 6,52,230

Which is better:CS at DJ Sanghvi or Elec/Extc at Spce/Spit?

Anuj More 18th Nov, 2020

Dear Candidate,

It's is very difficult to compare two different streams of engineering, but SPCE is the most reputed college amongst DJ & SPIT. The name of that College itself speaks for itself. But since you are worried between the courses, I'd suggest you to go through the modules you will be learning in both the streams & then make a decision. Try contacting alumnus from both the colleges(with your preferred stream). Ask people around you, if this is difficult for you to take a proper decision. Talk with people around the pros & cons of the courses. After all, it's you who will be pursuing the course. Make a proper decision after studying all the parameters. I'd personally go with SPCE & you can anyhow apply for CSE jobs if you are good with Computer skills after your graduation.

Thanks. Hope it helped.

Thanks.

My son scored 179 marks in MHCET. NOW HE IS PLANNING FOR CS OR IT. PLEASE GUIDE ME WHETHER CEOP IS BETTER OR SPIT. WE ARE IN MUMBAI.

AKSHAYA.V.A. 16th Nov, 2020

Hello!

COEP is one of the best college. They have good overall ratings. The placement records are good as well as consistent, the average placement record is around 95% exclusively for CSE and IT department. The highest package offered is 40lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 3lakhs per annum and average package offered is 6-9 lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, Caterpillar, Goldman Sachs, etc. Infrastructure is not that great and faculties are good.

SPIT have good overall ratings but not as good as COEP. The placement records are good and consistent, average placement record is around 90%. The highest package offered is 40lakhs per annum, lowest package offered is 3Lakhs per annum and the average package offered is around 8Lakhs per annum. Top recruiting companies are Microsoft, work India, etc. Good an better infrastructure than COEP. Faculties are better in SPIT than in COEP.

Both the colleges have more pros and cons COEP is better in placement records and performance. Whereas SPIT have better infrastructure and Teaching faculties.

Choose wisely, ALL THE BEST. Hope the answer was of some help.

Thank You
