May I take admission in JNU university with the subject political science, history, sociology etc.

Purbayan Chatterjee 27th Aug, 2021

Hi Shani,

JNU is an excellent college in terms of educational facilities, faculties and peer groups. If the subjects mentioned i.e. political science, history, sociology etc. excites you, do go for it. However, do not choose a college just because of its name, consider the subjects you're getting with more priority as sooner or later you'll start hating them if they do not motivate you.

So as to simplify my answer, give preference to the course and then college.

Hope this helps.

how much knowledge of computers is required for assistant professor of sociology in degree college in india

Subhrajit Mukherjee 21st Aug, 2021

See now a days the sociological studies are done in more data correlated way. So when you want to be a assistant professor then you may not need that much of computer knowledge but if the syllabus changes and data interpretation techniques using coding is introduced in the syllabus of sociology then you will need to know about the computer. I would always recommend knowing the computed skills can be really helpful. SO if you can invest some time in this then in future you will get the feedback in future that's for no doubt.

i passed my 12th with pcmb stream and i got 70..can i get admission in BA in sociology or any other stream

Aditi Yadav 30th Jun, 2021
Hey Lakshmi!

Yes ,you can switch your stream from science to humanities in graduation.

BA hons. sociology or BA Sociology is a three - year undergraduation course in sociology.

Know more about the course here -

https://www.careers360.com/courses/b-a-bachelor-of-arts

BA in sociology is an excellent course.Go for it if your interest lies in it.

You haven't mentioned you want admission through merit based or entrance based.

70% in 12th is not a great score. So getting admission through merit - based is quite tough but not impossible.Still,I would suggest you to apply for universities and colleges for both admission- merit based and entrance based.

You can't do much with merit based but entrance exams are game changer.

Prepare well for your entrance exams and you will surely get a seat in BA Sociology.

Refer to this to get to know more about colleges and universities and their ranking for BA Sociology-
