If your priority is career opportunities, I would prefer computer engineering. It gives you more options in software and IT. Mechanical is a good choice if you genuinely enjoy the field, but for most students looking for wider career options, computer engineering would be safer.

I'd personally lean towards Thapar , especially if you're genuinely interested in Mechanical. My cousin studied at Thapar and had a really good experience with the academics, campus, and overall exposure. But if your main goal is specifically a career in software, CSE at VIT Bhopal may make more sense.
