Amity university's computer engineering or Thapar university's mechanical engineering? Which is better and safer?
Honestly, I’d personally choose Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology Mechanical over Amity CSE.
In my experience, Thapar has a much stronger overall reputation, better peer group, stronger placements, and far better industry exposure. Also, at Thapar, a lot of Mechanical students still move into tech software roles if they build coding skills alongside their degree.
What makes it “safer” for me is the overall brand value and long-term opportunities that come with Thapar. The campus culture, alumni network, and placement ecosystem are genuinely excellent.
So if you’re okay with Mechanical and willing to work on skills, Thapar is definitely the stronger option overall.
Thapar Institute of Engineering and Technology is much better option than Amity University be it in academics, placements, campus life and overall growth. At TIET you get more live projects and more internship options which are more helpful for your personal growth.
Hello,
Thapar is much better choice than Amity University. This is due to a number of reasons. First of all, It has been ranked as the 4th best engineering college in India after BITS Pilani, IIIT Hyderabad, and BIT Mesra. It takes admission on the basis of JEE Mains score, Thus its credibility increases. This also makes it a fair system for all the students. It has also maintained NIRF rank under 30.
Thapar Univeristy is also really good in terms of crowd, brand, studies, research, placements, campus environment, etc.
I hope this helps,
All the best
