I have 87 percent for my 12 th in CBSE.Can I get an admission in delhi university?

Subodh Mittal 20th Jun, 2019
Hi Cristy

Yes, you might get admission in Delhi University. But DU considers top 4 subjects percentage for admission on merit basis.

But it also depends on the course you might be willing to take admission in. Many top colleges cut off is above 95% but many other colleges have low cutoff also.

Anjali Tanwar 19th Jun, 2019

Hello Shaurya,

The ECA trials are held in two levels :- 1) Preliminiary trials 2) Final trials

Once you clear the preliminiary trials you are called for the final trials. The final merit list will be based on the final trials and the certificate evaluation with the weightage of 75:25 respectively.

The applicant must secure minimum 50% marks in the final trials (38 out of 75) to be included in the final merit list.

The certificates are given a total of 25 marks.

I hope this helps.

I am applying for Delhi University and I am a kashmiri migrant. I also want to apply through ECA quota. So will there be any seperate list?

snehasinha1718 Student Expert 19th Jun, 2019

Hey Nischint,

Delhi University reserves a few seats for students who have indulged in Extracurricular Activities (ECA) during their school education. Candidates who are applying through this category can expect marks relaxation of up to 15% (for unreserved candidates) in merit lists.

In order to apply for these seats, you can register yourself on the official website of Delhi University.

DU ECA Quota selection process fo various UG courses is as follows -

  • According to the rules of DU, you will be eligible for ECA seats if you have a valid certificate for the respective extracurricular activity.
  • You will also have to qualify the Trials conducted by DU.
  • DU gives 25% weightage to certificates, whereas, 75% weightage is given to ECA Trials.
  • Trials will be conducted at the Preliminary and Final level.
  • All candidates are allowed to appear for preliminary trials only once.
  • Those who clear the preliminary trials are then called for final trials.
  • It is important to secure at least 50% marks i.e. (38/75) in the final trials in order to qualify through ECA quota admissions.
  • Merit list will be prepared by the authorities on the basis of final trials and their percentage in class 12. Admissions will be done on the basis of this list.

I have got 90% in my 12th boards and i have applied under ews category. I want to do ba honours. Which delhi university college can i get?

snehasinha1718 Student Expert 19th Jun, 2019

Hey shardha,

Since the ews category is new therefore it would be very difficult to predict the it's cutoffs beforehand. This time there will be separate cut-offs for the ews category. The cutoffs for ews category would be 4-5% lesser than that of general category.

You can predict your college through this website

Hope this helps!

Good luck!

Sir currently I am a student of Delhi University physics honors second year I want to study master from California University .

Nishita Sareen 18th Jun, 2019

Hello aspirant,

Each of your chosen campuses will receive your application and official ACT/SAT test scores.

Next steps
  1. Meet key dates & deadlines.
  2. Check for closed majors.
  3. Prepare your responses to the personal insight questions.
  4. Apply online during the filing period.
  5. Pay the application fee(s)
  6. Know what to do after you apply.

Apply to college as soon as the online application becomes available in October. Complete and pay for your application on or before February 1 in order to receive equal consideration for admission to programs beginning the following September. The following dates apply to programs starting in the fall of 2019Acceptance rates are usually university specific, and generally do not depend on which semester you are applying in. But then, you should remember the fact that since the class sizes are much larger for the fall intake, you will have a much better chance of getting admitted than if you apply for the spring season. you can apply as a senior to graduateschools, but your acceptance has the condition of complete a four-year bachelor's degree or equivalent.Yes, now is the time to start applying to graduate programs. The deadlines are likely to be similar to undergraduate deadlines.

Here are seven other ways to help pay for college:
  1. Grants. Colleges, states, and the federal government give out grants, which don't need to be repaid.
  2. Ask the college for more money. ...
  3. Work-study jobs.
  4. Apply for private scholarships.
  5. Take out loans.
  6. Claim a $2,500 tax credit.
  7. Live off campus or enroll in community college.
