Hope you are doing good in your life and nice to see you that you want to become an IAS officer.

So as you are asking that what should you take in your intermediate class if you want to become an IAS officer. Just listen one line take whatever excites you and in whatever you feel interested.

This is because UPSC welcomes every candidate from every domain and there is no any restriction on the basis of of stream. So you are free to take anything and to enter into any stream according to your interest.

But if you are asking about the stream which would help you in your UPSC civil services examination then I would suggest you to take Humanities stream as most of the syllabus you will be covering from very early age.

sir IAS is good better or Ips

Ashish Ramtari 22nd Dec, 2021

Both are the honorable jobs for you to perform. However the IAS is much powerful than IPS because after completing 8 years in Indian administrative Service you can become the district magistrate of your  city in which you are posted and which makes you the top authority of the city. However I am mentioning below the points of comparison between Indian administrative Service and Indian police service for making a clear understanding for you:

Indian administrative Service:

  • UPSC conducts Indian administrative Services examinations it is conducted once in every year. The maximum age 32 years upto which you can give examination for UPSC.
  • After becoming an IAS you can expect a salary of 56100 per month if you become sub divisional magistrate. And after completing 8 years you will become district magistrate and you can expect a salary of 78800 per month.
  • You will also get facilities of government accommodation, security, household assistant including cook etc when you become an IAS officer.

Indian police service:

  • UPSC conducts Indian police Service examination and you have to qualify the examination for being an Indian police Service authority.
  • Every year aspirants between 5 to 8 lakh appear for union Public Service Commission examination for becoming an IPS officer.
  • You have to qualify three examinations for becoming a IPS officer. These examinations are civil services preliminary, civil services mains and UPSC personality test.
  • According to the 7th pay commission the director General of police get a salary of 225000 and additional director General of police get a salary of 2,05,000.

It can be said that both of the positions are good but district magistrate IAS avails  more facilities than IPS.

I want to become Ias but through commerce, I want to know which degree is good for IAS in commerce faculty. I am interested to gain financial knowledge too thats why I am interested in commerce and also it is not fixed that I will be selected for IAS and want to have a backup plan so pls suggest?

Ayushi T 10th Dec, 2021

Hello.

IAS exam provides a level playing field to all the students with different streams so there is no perfect subject combination that can guarantee success. It's totally about your interest. If you are interested in commerce and want to keep it as a backup option it's a good idea. To excel in upsc exam there are arts subjects like history, geography, economics, sociology have to be studied in detail which form a major chunk of GS1 GS2 GS3 papers.

Commerce is a good optional subject as many toppers have preferred it.

Its totally based on aspirants interests and background. So there's no perfect subject combination.

Hope this helps.

Thanks :)

what is the physical fitness requirements for IAS

Swapnali Datkhile 9th Dec, 2021

Hello Aspirant, Hope you are doing well.

There isn't any height , weight and chest girth minimum requirement as such for applicants for the IAS , unlike the technical offerings. However, if the applicants measurements are disproportionate to the scientific board's ,the  applicants may be hospotalized for research and a chest X- ray may be taken.

Blood pressure above 140/90 must be subjected to similarly checking out withinside the health centre to examine whether or not the bizarre BP is transient because of excitement, etc.

There must now no longer be any stomach sickness. Candidates with transplantes organs declared undeserving .

Hope this will help you. All the best.
