This is because UPSC welcomes every candidate from every domain and there is no any restriction on the basis of of stream. So you are free to take anything and to enter into any stream according to your interest.

Both are the honorable jobs for you to perform. However the IAS is much powerful than IPS because after completing 8 years in Indian administrative Service you can become the district magistrate of your city in which you are posted and which makes you the top authority of the city. However I am mentioning below the points of comparison between Indian administrative Service and Indian police service for making a clear understanding for you:
Indian administrative Service:
Indian police service:
It can be said that both of the positions are good but district magistrate IAS avails more facilities than IPS.

Hello.
IAS exam provides a level playing field to all the students with different streams so there is no perfect subject combination that can guarantee success. It's totally about your interest. If you are interested in commerce and want to keep it as a backup option it's a good idea. To excel in upsc exam there are arts subjects like history, geography, economics, sociology have to be studied in detail which form a major chunk of GS1 GS2 GS3 papers.
Commerce is a good optional subject as many toppers have preferred it.
Its totally based on aspirants interests and background. So there's no perfect subject combination.
Hope this helps.
Thanks :)
Hello Aspirant, Hope you are doing well.
There isn't any height , weight and chest girth minimum requirement as such for applicants for the IAS , unlike the technical offerings. However, if the applicants measurements are disproportionate to the scientific board's ,the applicants may be hospotalized for research and a chest X- ray may be taken.
Blood pressure above 140/90 must be subjected to similarly checking out withinside the health centre to examine whether or not the bizarre BP is transient because of excitement, etc.
There must now no longer be any stomach sickness. Candidates with transplantes organs declared undeserving .
Hope this will help you. All the best.
