Heartly congratulations on the success of your ward. Analysing the previous cutoffs the candidate will surely get a cse core or cse with specialization at Vit, Vellore.
VIT has also announced the procedure of fee payment and counselling dates. As per the norms Counselling fee of 5900 inr will not be refunded under any circumstances. If candidate choose to take back admissions before commencement of classes, an amount of 1000 will be deducted as processing fee and remaining will be refunded. After classes start, 10percent of the total amount will be deducted if applied after 30 days similarly 50 percent in case you apply for refund after 60 days and only caution deposit will be refunded if you apply after 90 days.

The cut off rank changes every year depending on factors such as total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc. Analyzing the past years cut off for Mechanical Engineering in VIT, Vellore it is expected that the cut off rank in 2021 will be under 20000. Considering this you have less chances of getting seat in Mechanical Engineering in VIT, Vellore. But do not loose hope, the cut off rank is subjected to change depending on total number of candidates appeared, difficulty level of examination and total number of seats available etc.

Given the cut-off trends of the last few years, you stand a fair chance of grabbing an ECE seat at both VIT, Vellore and VIT, Chennai (high chances on the latter).

You have good chances of getting decent branches for your VITEEE Rank based on previous years Cutoffs. The cut-off vary from year to year and depends on many factors like number of students appeared, difficulty level of the exam, number of seats available, category, etc.
But based on previous year's cut-off trend, according to your VITEEE 2021 Rank you can get mostly all branches except Computer Science Engineering and also Computer Science Engineering Specializations and Information Technology in VIT Velore.

According to your VITEEE 2021 Rank you can only get Non-IT branches atleast in round 2 or round 3 based on previous year's cut-offs through category 4.
The cut-off vary from year to year and depends on many factors like number of students appeared, difficulty level of the exam, number of seats available, category, etc. Th ey may vary from year to year. If you want you can try category 5 where you need to pay 2.5 Lakhs extra per year for better branch.
