Every year,the seat allocation is on basis of merit rank, total number of seats available, category of the candidate, preferences of college and branch. As per previous years  VITEEE,closing rank of Comp.SC Engg. is 7000.Your rank may not reach for CSE.

It is difficult for you to get B.Tech Computer Science Engineering branch in Vellore Institute of Technology, Vellore based on previous year's cut-offs in Category 1 to 3. But cut-offs varies from year to year and depends on many factors. You can try for Category 4 or 5 but chances are less because competition will be more for B.Tech Computer Science Engineering branch. But if at all you get B.Tech Computer Science Engineering seat in VIT Vellore in Category 5 then you have to pay additional 2.5 Lakhs every year apart from every year Tution Fees which is approximately Rs. 1.98 Lakhs.

Hello aspirant, for VIT you need under 5K rank for CSE branch in category 1 and under 20K rank for category 3 or 4. You have a very slim chance of getting CSE in category 5 for which you need to pay a very large fees around 5 Lakh per annum. But you should try to get admission in core branches in VIT Vellore or Chennai in category 3 or 4. For category 3 the fees is around 3.08 Lakh per annum and for category 4 it is about 4 Lakh per annum. So if you are comfortable with the fees then you should try to get a seat in core branches in VIT or according to my opinion you should try to get CSE branch in other colleges that will require a much lesser fees.

Hope you are doing well.According to your rank you won't be able to get mechanical branch in chennai campus.But you can try getting admission in VIT Bhopal and VIT AP.You can also try getting admission through other categories.

The fees of different categories are as folows-

Category 1- 1,98,000/- per year

Category 2- 2,35,000/- per year

Category 3- 3,43,000/- per year

Category 4/- 3,68,000/- per year

I would suggest you to try in VIT Bhopal and VIT AP.But if you are comfortable with the fees of other categories then you try in VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai.

Hello aspirant, first of all congratulations on getting 10K rank in VITEE. For CS branch in VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai, for category 1 you need to get under 5K rank. But in your rank you will be able to get CSE in 2nd category in VIT Vellore or VIT Chennai. For first category the fee is around  1.98LPA but for 2nd category it is 3LPA and for 3rd category it is 4LPA. So if you can afford the fees in 2nd category then you should be able to secure admission in CSE in VIT Vellore main campus or VIT Chennai campus.

Kudos for successfully completing the VITEEE exam with flying colours. As far as your rank is concerned, you have all the chances of getting CSE in Vellore campus in first category. When it comes to other branches like Electronics and Communication, Mechanical, other branches, you can easily get a seat in Vellore campus. We know that VIT doesnt release official cut-off's every year. But, we can predict based on their previous years cut-off's.

In 2016, the cut-off for CSE in Vellore was 7000 whereas, in 2015 it was 15,000. So participate in their counselling process and definitely you will get a seat very easily. The cut-off depends on a variety of factors such as number of students appeared, difficulty level of the exam, number of available seats, etc.

Looking at the recent few years cutoffs trend of VIT Vellore,  there is fair chance that your son will get CS in Vellore campus of VIT as the Computer science branch rank closes till 7000 VITEEE ranks.

For your VITEEE 2021 Rank you can only get Non-IT branches atleast in round 2 or round 3 as your rank belongs to Category 4 where you need to pay Rs. 2.5 Lakhs extra very year for 4 years.
