VIT University doesn't publish its cutoff ranges for the various courses it offers but after seeing the selection trends of VIT University over the years, you have a high possibility of admission in your choice of domain. Yet again it may vary as it depends upon the number of student qualifying and the choice they opt for.

Coming to your answer it seems very difficult  to get the first category seat that too in the communication engineering branch in the Vellore campus.

But still hope for the best.

Congrats for your wonderful rank, There is no category under the marks or rank you get. If your question is about which stream you will get with this rank then let me tell you that with this rank you can get any stream of your choice. 

So with this rank, you can even get into VIT Vellore which is said to be Main Campus of VIT

Congratulations on getting such a good rank in VITMEE 2019. With a rank of 1997, I am pretty sure you will be able to get a seat in Vellore Campus from category 1.             Congratulations on your VITMEE rank. You do have a good chance of getting MCA in Vellore campus and most probably in the first category. 

  The closing rank for the same is between 550 to 600 according to previous year results. Hope this helps. All the best!!

With this rank in VITMEE, you have a lot of options available.

You have a very futile chance of getting CSE in Vellore but getting it in Chennai will be a lot easier.

Hii Patil, I'll suggest you to be there from 11am. I have myself faced this because it's very chaotic there, you will be confused, will require help too. It is appreciated if you go early and try to know things, and branches available.
