Category 1 students need to secure rank within 200-300 in order to get seat in visit . 

Category 1 closing rank for Embedded would be around 900 - 1000 . 

So with a rank of 1608 , chances of admission into either of the two are bleak .

As much I remember candidates with 1000+ rank were called for counselling last year. So I'd have to say that it's going to be hard for you get into VIT. But don't loose hope.
