Mitochondria divides same way as the bacteria does that is by prokaryotic binary fission and since they require mitochondrial DNA for their function,fission is coordinated with DNA replication.

It is also sometimes said that mitochondria was formed from bacteria during the course of evolution.

In my opinion Christ should be your priority if you are planning to do undergraduate science degree. The university offers dual and triple degree programmes too. You may consider opting one of those.

Why does fertilisation in plant called double fertilisation??

Hello!!

In plant fertilisation takes place at two levels first fertilisation occurs between male gamete andegg and second between male gamete and polar nuclear thus it is called double fertilisation.

The haplold germ cell and hzploid egg combine to firm a zygote and this is called syngamy .

If you belong from ST category then you don't have to worry about anything now,You will surely get a seat in NIT Wrangle and also in other good NITs or IIITs with average or quite good branch like chemical,civil,ECE etc.
