Hello student,
Yes, a child who has completed the 12th standard with a medical stream (Biology) is eligible to apply for the National Defence Academy (NDA) examination, but with specific conditions.
-
Eligibility Criteria : The NDA exam requires candidates to have completed their 12th standard from a recognized board. For the Army wing, any stream (Science, Commerce, or Arts) is acceptable. However, for the Navy and Air Force wings, candidates must have studied Physics and Mathematics in addition to Biology.
-
Medical Stream Students : If a student has taken Biology but has not taken Physics and Mathematics, they will not be eligible for the Navy and Air Force wings. They can only apply for the Army wing of NDA.
Age Limit : Candidates should be between 16.5 and 19.5 years of age when applying for the NDA exam.
For detailed information about eligibility and the application process, you can refer to the official NDA notification on the Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) website.
