Best of four mark means? How can I calculate it?

Hi Ameena,
Students have to fulfill some criteria for DU admissions every year and calculating best of four subject marks/percentage is one of them. The candidates are allotted their seats on the basis of relevant eligibility criteria required for undergraduate courses in DU.
To calculate best of four marks, students need to consider:
Best-of-four calculations for Arts courses:
The three academic/elective subjects chosen by the candidate in DU Admissions 2018 must include the one in which admission is being required. If the candidate fails to do so, it will lead to a deduction of 2.5 per cent imposed on the 'best four' percentage calculated
For example, BA (Honours) History applicant should have History as a subject in the qualifying examination; otherwise, it will reduce the chance of getting the course he or she is interested in
Best-of-four calculations for Honours (Language Programme)
For admission to Honours in any language programme in DU Admissions 2018, the candidates will be given an advantage of 2 per cent in the 'best four', this will only be given to those who have studied that particular elective language in the qualifying examination.
Hope this helps you.
