Aerospace engineering is the primary field of engineering concerned with the development of aircraft and spacecraft.
It has two major and overlapping branches: aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering.
Aerospace is one of the various fields studied in LPU.

· Student has an Automobile club under Society of Automobiles India, Under which the teams have participated in various competitions by making their vehicle in Supra SAE (Student Formula CAR), Baja SAE India, BAJA SAE USA, Efficycle (LPU Hosted the SAE Efficycle event in Oct-2015
· Organized International Go-Kart Championship which is a student-initiated automotive event – the first international event of its kind receiving participation from all over ASIA.
· The Mechanical Department has highly experienced and qualified staff pursuing their research in thrust areas such as CAD/CAM, Mechanical design, Thermal engineering, Fluid dynamics, Manufacturing Engineering, Tool design, and Flexible Manufacturing Systems/Automation. The department has to its credit more than 48 research publications in International, National Journals including prestigious ASME Transactions, International Conference and National Conference.

Yes comparatively lpu aerospace engineering is good. The placement record is decent. As aerospace engineering is a upcoming field, most of job opportunities are available through gate exam. In private sector only handful top students get placed.
