Can I do b.sc after diploma in electronic and communication engineering

After completing Diploma in Electronics and Communication Engineering, going for lateral entry (Direct admission into 2nd year), would be good than opting for Bsc after diploma. Or if you have any particular reason for pursuing Bsc after engineering diploma, then pls share. Would be able to respond better after you share the specific reason.
