can I expect any PSU calls for 42 marks in GATE 2017 civil engineering ? if not, what will be best option for me ?

Low chances for psu's. But still apply for the preffered ones. If you are interested in higher studies then go for it. Otherwise if you have the patience and time required , then try your best for the gate exam next year.
