Hi Jyoti
If a candidate qualifies NEET UG and wants to take admission to government and private medical colleges then they have to participate in the counselling process conducted by the centralized body or state authority.
The counselling for 15% seats of Government Colleges and all the seats available in Deemed and Central Universities will be conducted by Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on behalf of Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). In this counselling process, all the candidates across the country who have qualified NEET 2018 are eligible to participate.
The counselling for 85% State Quota seats of Government Colleges and all the seats of Private Colleges will be conducted by the respective state authority. The seats of private colleges will be divided between state quota and management quota. 15% seats of private colleges will be reserved for NRI candidates. Along with qualifying NEET 2018, you will also be required to be a domicile of the respective state. The domicile criterion varies from state to state and is only required for 85% State Quota seats and Government seats in private colleges.
