Dear Regina, the Supreme Court has passed an order in favour of the petitioner on August 28th stating that if any Candidate has qualified in NEET, he/she cannot be denied a seat due to 'low vision'. However, we do not know the extent of the 'low vision' here. But the Candidate was within the benchmark of visual disability. A Benchmark disability means 'a person with no less than 40% of the specified disability where the specified disability cannot be defined in measurable terms and needs to be certified by an authority'. What we would suggest you is to visit any of the authorised Disability Assessment Centres mentioned at mcc.nic.in and get yourself assessed. And based on that you can take a call.

Dear aspirant,
Yes, its right that candidates who have equal to or more than 40% visual disability are not elligible in NEET UG exam. It is not just confined to visual disabilty only but also to other disabilities and that too approved disabilities.
All Medical Colleges across the world follow certain MCI guidelines when it comes to admissions. And every student who needs to avail the PWD quota has to get himself/herself assessed at the Disability Assessment Centres. This certificate received from the centre is mandatory to be eligible for PWD quota. If this student goes for a check up and the certificate comes as not qualified under Disabilities act, no college can hire him/her because it goes against the rules.
Hope this helped!!
