Currently I am studying isc from pcm. What are the subjects I should opt or study in du after my completion of 12th?
Hi Sakshi
Since you have taken PCM , it seems you have an aptitude towards science. Taking this assumption into consideration , I would firstly like to brief you a bit about Delhi University (DU). DU is one of the top universities of our country and Iam sure you are aware of the extremely high cut offs set by DU every year. Since you have PCM , Iam assuming that you will be applying for BSc degree programs under DU.
DU offers undergraduate BSc degrees in the following science streams along with their minimum eligibility criteria are as follows :-
- BSc (Hons) in Statistics, Mathematics - The candidate must have passed (10+2) exam with at least 45% marks and 50% marks in Mathematics.
- BSc (Hons) in Botany, Microbiology, Zoology, Anthropology, Geology, Biological Sciences- The candidate must have passed (10+2) exam with at least 55% marks and 50% marks in English.
- BSc(Hons) in Physics, Chemistry, Electronics, Instrumentation, Polymer Science - The candidate must have passed (10+2) exam in PCM with at least 55% marks and 50% marks in one compulsory language.
- BSc (Hons) in Mathematical Science - The candidate must have passed (10+2) exam with at least 40% marks.
However the above mentioned criteria are the minimum criteria as the general cut off marks of the merit list published by DU every year are extremely high. Almost above 96%+ for general category students.
Delhi University also offers the Bachelor of Technology course (BTech) in Information Technology (IT) and Mathematics. The eligibility criteria for this degree is that the candidate must have a minimum of 60% in 10+2 exams including Mathematics. The selection of the candidates is made on the basis of a 2 hour MCQ test in which the candidate has to appear which will be used as a basis for admission for their BTech program on the basis of the rank obtained by the candidate.
These are the options available to you to study in DU after your 12th which are related to science. You can also check out the Delhi University website to see options available to you from other non science branches as well.
Take care to score as high as possible in yiur 12th boards exams to maximize your chances of securing your admission at DU. I hope you get to study in your dream college and my best wishes to you for your board exams.
God Speed
Thanks
Hey, thank you for contacting us. it looks like you are having trouble choosing which subject to major, the best thing would be to ask what you wanna do in ten years and if that's too hard to think maybe you can opt for the subject you have interest in the most. we can only guide you based on your preference, the choice is on you to decide. I hope this helps.
best wishes
